The vast vineyards and- at the risk of sounding cliché- rolling green hills can be admired from the comfort of the restaurant as well.In addition if you’re searching for a South Australia foodie experience you’re guaranteed to find it here. The fresh and flavourful food was of high quality, surprisingly tasty, and matched any other fine dining experience, minus the price tag. With no booking we were kindly offered seating by the hospitable waitress that accommodated for all our dietary requirements. We arrived early so we had coffee and cake whilst we waited for tour and tasting. Our tour guide finally arrived and I must say it was the best that I have ever experienced.we arrived back to start our wine 🍷 tasting and the experience was sensational. The choice of wine was excellent and my wife and I had pre booked a loverly lunch at Penfolds. We had a very nice first class luncheon with some beautiful selections of food with some very nice wine to go with each dish. We were certainly looked after as it was our 35 wedding anniversary and we cannot speak highly enough of the staff all the way from our arrival to our code and cake then our tour and then lunch. To all the staff including our tour guide and restaurant staff and tasting staff a very big thank you. My wife and I would definitely recommend this venue for a visit and we are sure you will not be disappointed. Karl Preston: Excellent wine tasting this afternoon. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly.

Ji-hoon Chung: The tasting fee was $20 per person, but the tasting fee was deducted if you purchased wine, so I bought two bottles of wine.I paid an additional fee and shared a glass of Grange

Jane Vincent: Wonderful tour guided by Ivan who shared his vast knowledge of Penfolds and their wines, as well as his Italian for some overseas guests. The wine tasting was very informative and Ivan's passion for wine was very evident.

Klaus Christensen: Extremely enjoyable, our host Ivan was very knowledgeable and took the time to make our tour special. The tasting were great and I suggest you pay the extra and try the Grange.

Heath Williams: We arrived for a tasting prior to our restaurant booking, when the cellar door was all booked out for a release. Although very disappointed, we were soon cheered up by Lachie who offered to accommodate us outside with a bottle of wine overlooking the vineyard and watch the sun set prior to dinner.Still haven’t done a tasting however are very grateful for the hospitality that was shown and will continue to drink Penfolds…will be back for my Grange purchase some time in the future. Murdoch Hill: what do users think?

Tania Matz: Well worth the visit. Imogin hour host was great. Thank so much for a wonderful tasting. Loved the Chardonnay.

Mari-Clair Prendeville: A very warm welcome even though we arrived near closing time. Our second visit to Murdoch Hill, the wines are always excellent, always exciting to see what is on offer here. Highly recommend.

Chloe Swift: Great wine, great service and amazing aesthetic

G D (whereisthenickname): We came here for the second time and love the location and wines. It’s small, cosy and serene. The wines are fantastic and if it’s not a busy day there is a lot to learn too. Would love a little bit more variety on the cheese platter, but nevertheless, we will definitely return. We look forward to meeting the new “pawmelier” Basil on our next visit

Mister Matthew: In my experience as the owner of one of Australia's premier wine tour businesses, Murdoch Hill is easily one of the best new wineries in South Australia. Run by a warm and friendly generational farming family, they make some of the Hills best wines. I think their Pinots are amazing old-world expressions of new world grapes. Meanwhile, their Chardonnay and Meunier are quickly becoming cult status wines. Their cool-climate Syrah even just won Best Shiraz in Australia! While the wines are always fantastic, it's the hospitality that sets Murdoch Hill apart. It's run by two of the nicest guys in the business - brothers Andrew and Michael. As a family owned and run business, their hospitality, warmth, and generousity is so honest and welcoming, they quickly make their guests feel at home.If you love quality fine wine, and enjoy supporting smaller family owned business look no further than Murdoch Hill. You will not be disappointed!

aaron brighton: Andrew and his team provided a great experience today. The venue was fantastic to sit in, enjoying the wines and the grounds. The wines speak for themselves, and I left with a stash to enjoy. After a short chat, Andrew offered a unique walk through the winery and barrel room that topped off an amazing stop.

Vanessa Potts: What a lovely winery! Had a great time tasting wines from this hidden gem. Highly recommended.

Vaughan Dunn: Nice tasting experience in the Adelaide Hills approx 15 mins north from Hahndorf. Lovely sunny tasting room with lush surroundings and some original tasting wines to match. Was recommended to visit by a friend with extensive industry knowledge as one of the best in the region. Recommended.

Shawn Zeppel: Amazing little gem of a winery. Beautiful lawn with kids activities too. Well worth the visit.

Alex T.: We felt really well taken care off and we tried some very exciting wines. Murdoch Hill came as a recommendation from another producer and they definitely did not dissapoint. One of the most interesting cellar doors around Adelaide, for sure.

T.J. Burgin: Olivia was amazing. The wine was beautiful. The view was spectacular.

Hanna P: Nice tasting, great and interesting wine, friendly staff and beautiful location.

Eric Toome: Another beautiful location caught on a warm sunny evening. Lovely wine, the pinot was one i will go back again for more, and pleasant company with mine hosts doing a great job. Some of the best and most powerful olives ive had too. Will bve back!

Andrew Kelly: Exceptional wines in a delightful modern tasting room. The staff here are informative, professional and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting here and bought many wines to take home.

vivek sharma: Best wines selection in Adelaide hills

Taste the Barossa: what do users think?

Liz P: We had a great time as part of Brian's group yesterday. We were so glad we had booked the tour. Brian is both funny and knowledgeable. We got to learn about Adelaide's history and detoured to places we wouldn't have ordinarily seen eg whispering wall and the lookout. Really liked Chateau Yaldara and absolutely loved Rosenvale. 16 bottles of wine are currently being shipped home... 10 are red and prior to the tour we kept saying 'we don't drink red!'.... turns out we do! 😅

Stacia Naomi Tholar: We had a great time on Brian’s bus! He was funny and informative. The fun mix of people in our group definitely made the experience more enjoyable. And we got some great deals on some of our favourite wines!I forgot my cap on the bus. When I called the next day to check, they were more than happy to ship it to Brisbane for me.5 star service ⭐️

Greg Hodson: Today was a day I will never forget our tour started with a trip around Adelaide. We then set off to Lofty Mountain lookout and then onto the German town of Hardorf. We thought this was a great little town and we had a massive German lunch at the German Arms Hotel.we finally had our stay and full tummies and head out to our first winery being Haslgrove wines and our host Millie was exceptional. We then headed to Chapel Hill winery and I must say this was the highlight of the two wineries. Once we were finished here we started to finally head back form our 9 hour day trip via Glenelg for a drive along the water front. We saw some beautiful scenery along the beach front and fell in love with this place. Finally we got moving again and after getting back to the city and dropped off to our hotel or nearby we could kick our shoes off at our hotel to relax. To the team at Taste the Barossa thank you and a special thanks to our tour guide Jason you were amazing and gave us and our other guests a great day.I would definitely recommend this company to go out and explore Adelaide and yes it was only two wineries but the rest of the tour was just brilliant and a lot of driving.

Queva Fitzgerald: Russel - love him, lots of info about region and wine yards , we were keen for Craic and he the venues delivered , informative ane fabulous

Vicki Mason: We had the most wonderful day with JR our guide, he was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the wineries. And there were some funny personal stories as well. We all loved everything about our tour and JR. Would recommend his tour group. Best day was had by all. THANKS J R

Christine Longworth: , Whispering Wall, Maggie Beer and Barossa Chocolate.Russell delivered great commentary, is funny and entertaining. What an Ambassador for your biz and the Barossa region.T H A N K Y O U !!

Mitch Jeffrey: We were a party of 4 going on a wine tour around the Barossa. We had James as our tour guide and he was the best! He was such a delight, kept us all entertained and laughing while giving us interesting insights into wine making, Adelaide’s and the Barossa's history! Couldn’t recommend enough and count your lucky stars if you get James!

Geoff Mallows: What a magnificent day organised by a company that is top rate from the booking process when you call .... Thank you Chris for making the initial contact experience so pleasant but also informative about the day tour and then asking about any special food requirements without me having to raise the matter ,To our driver Baden , I can't thank you enough for your commentary, information on the places of interest you took us and your sense of humour.Going to 3 wineries broken up by a few local attractions is a wonderful balance that Tast the Barossa have incorporated into their wine tours rather than the usual 4 wineries and thats all.A special mention to Rosenvale wines especially Megan who was so informative and the wine produced for tasting was quality and may I say some of the best reds I have consumed. Overall a great tour to go on ..... Definitely

Micaela McLaughlin: I recently had the pleasure of bringing a group on the Taste the Barossa day trip which included a loop of the city and wine tasting in the hills. The highlight of the trip was our tour guide Craig who was so passionate about Adelaide and everything it had to offer. So much so that a few of my group are actually planning to relocate to Adelaide once they have finished their travels! We were so lucky to be able to see Koalas and Kangaroos in their natural habitat and get to do wine tasting before finishing the day watching the sunset at the beach. The organisation and professionalism of Taste the Barossa was incredible and I can't recommend them enough!

John McCarney: We had a wonderful time on the tour. Jason was very informative, friendly and passionate about the Barossa Valley and South Australia as a whole. We learned a lot about the region and the wineries. The trip to the dam was amazing especially the acoustics. Our trips to the wineries were very enjoyable and we especially enjoyed the friendly, welcoming and energetic talk by the manager of the Rosenvale Winery. We got to taste so many wines which made it difficult to choose what to buy. We purchased a fair amount and it was great to have it delivered free of charge. We are currently enjoying these wines and look forward to more in the future. Our only criticism is the gourmet lunch was not that great nor gourmet, basically cold meats and crackers and limiting to anyone with allergies.

Lynise O'Dowd: Congratulations Taste the Barossa. Excellent tour & lovely group but huge thank you to JR. You made the tour, knowledgeable, making everyone feel welcome. Thank you from west coast Eagles fan club from WA, Lynise & Ross O'Dowd & Murray Jackson

Christine Churchill: FANTASTIC!! What an amazing day,.James our driver was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and a great personality. The only wine tasting I’ve been to where you see the vines close up and take away a fantastic learning experience. There was no pressure to buy, but the wines tasted so good you couldn’t help but buy some.Thank you team, lots of fun memories 😍🍾🍷

ray Bauskis: A fantastic experience visiting the Barossa wineries. Our tour guide James, was outstanding. The only way to acknowledge our experience is to book with this company and enjoy the journey.

Vanessa Washaya: . The wineries chosen were exceptional, scenery was stunning and the wines were delicious. Thanks for making our first time in Barossa unforgettable!

Lloyd Hsieh: We had a fantastic experience on the wine tour! The pacing was perfect; we never felt rushed or like we were waiting around. Baden did such an amazing job as our guide and driver. He was incredibly informative, and friendly, and even offered to take pictures for us. The flexibility with the drop-off location was also greatly appreciated. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Jarryd Formosa: Incredible day out! As a non-wine drinker, I can't believe how much I liked the various wines - and there were a lot! Special shout out to our guide and driver Baden, he was a legend and made the day loads of fun.

Sharon Johnson-Wood: What a fantastic trip! James, our driver and guide, was great. Fun personality, informative and a safe driver. Happy to take pics for us. He really contributed to making it an enjoyable day. Whispering wall was unbelievable and well worth doing. The vineyards/wineries and lunch were all good, although we particularly liked the last vineyard we visited. Sampled around 22 wines throughout the trip 🍷 Thoroughly recommend!

Leah G: This tour was the highlight of our trip! Highlighting the best of the Barossa valley with wine, food and photo stops, this was a full day out! Brian our guide was one in a million, he knew his stuff and presented it in a way that kept us entertained the whole day. Every stop we made along the way was better than the last!Only thing missing from this tour was a stop at the chocolate factory 😉.

Oisín Mac Lochlainn: I cannot rate the customer service from Taste the Barossa highly enough! Chris and Nikki from the team were amazing and I fully recommend this business.

Pawan Jupiter: I did the tour with my wife. We had a great time, met some great people on the tour, had some great wine, got some great deals. My wife had left her favourite cap on the bus, and they were kind enough to ship it to her, along with a stubbie holder!5-star service guys, but just know the added gift is a positive reinforcement 😂

Haven't tried the beer or cocktails yet, but will be back for sure. The staff are friendly, happy to give advice on what to mix with what, and are knowledgeable about the products on offer. The aesthetic is modern and rustic at once, with plenty of space to enjoy their drinks. I'd recommend bringing a designated driver as there is too much to enjoy if you're behind the wheel.

Matt Palmer: Great wine brand with personal service.

Alice Padman: Most incredible, innovative winery I’ve seen in such a long time. The wines are exceptional, I will forever buy from Unico Zelo. They hit the mark every time, not only in quality of product but their refreshing voice in a saturated market. Also a BCorp company- what can’t they do!

Tegan Shepherd: The customer service is as exceptional as the wine itself. The Unico Zelo crew remind you how rewarding it is to support small business. Thanks legends!

Michael Zwaan: I initially purchased a box of these wines for my partners birthday, and we enjoyed them so much that we have since placed 3 more orders. The wine from Unico is absolutely delicious and we will be ordering again soon. I would and have highly recommend these wines to anyone that will listen.

MICHAEL HYNES: . I know the old apple packing shed well. I was aware of and had tried the excellent Applewood gin. My son discovered the wine part of the business and we have enjoyed some previously. My current order was handled promptly and seamlessly. I hope the business goes well and that we can visit when this crisis is over.

Nick Broomham: I’ve been a huge huge fan of the entire portfolio since I stumbled upon it 3 years ago.Big thumbs up to the Eso and the Exocarpos nebb 🔥🔥🔥

Give that girl a raise 👏

Tina Maddileine Trump: I can see why this is a 4.9 rated winery. All their wines are amazing and all their staff are nice. The best sparkling shiraz we have ever tried! And the lady who was wearing pink jumper with glasses served us 12pm Aug31 was so lovely, she really looked after us despite the winery being fullhouse at the time

Bern S: . We enjoyed learning about the great diversity of soils in the relatively compact McLaren Vale appellation, & hope to be back on a future visit!

Zac Robertson: Great place to stop while touring the Vale. Amazing views to go with the great wines and hosts.

misskatebutler: Wonderful cozy cellar door. Mike is a great, welcoming host and the wines were beautiful.

Blu Snake: Great ambiance and convivial place for tasting some wines in a very informal way. The tasting is complimentary and the wines are very pleasant for the segment. I liked the Grenanche and the classic method Shiraz. Personally, I found some wines better at the same price point in McLaren Vale. However, the location and the atmosphere made the 5 starts and suggested place to visit

Sulav Ghimire: What a nice cozy tasting room. Me and my partner had best experience. Just what we needed on day off. Good service, amazing reds and complimentary tasting…what else you need? i can keep going

Carly Winger: 10/10 wine tasting setting. Adorable stone cottage dating back to the 1800s sitting atop the gorge and vines. Staff was very personable and knowledgeable about all the wines we tasted. Highly recommend!

Cheng Tong: Not our first visit and certainly won't be our last. The wines are still as exceptional as we remembered 5 years ago. Shout out to Lea our host who was very knowledgeable with her presentation yet very friendly and easy to talk to. Samuel's Gorge will always have a special place in our hearts!

Jarrod Kennedy: Without a doubt the most spectacular winery in McLaren Vale. You could be looking at over the Croatian Hills. Great wines and cellar door staff were very impressive. Will be back.

Prudence Madigan: Down to earth hospitality, proper pours and easily one of the best views at a winery in SA. We had the place to ourselves and it was a fabulous day!

The food was delicious, with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and left a lingering flavour that, paired with a glass of dry white, made you smile. The service was welcoming, prompt, and attentive. The ambience was elegant and comforting, with dark wood interiors and a warming fireplace that was both romantic and homely. A true gem!
