Rachael Sandercock: The perfect venue to celebrate a special birthday. Location, food, staff were amazing. A special day was had by all .

frank ruscio: If you’re looking for a tasty, elegant meal with picturesque scenery this perfect lunch spot is unmatched. The highlight of our experience included the intimate atmosphere, which boasts inviting fire places and twinkling fairy lights that provide a comforting barrier from the winter weather. The vast vineyards and- at the risk of sounding cliché- rolling green hills can be admired from the comfort of the restaurant as well.In addition if you’re searching for a South Australia foodie experience you’re guaranteed to find it here. The fresh and flavourful food was of high quality, surprisingly tasty, and matched any other fine dining experience, minus the price tag. With no booking we were kindly offered seating by the hospitable waitress that accommodated for all our dietary requirements. The timeliness and amicable service topped off our wonderful experience. This is a must visit on the Adelaide Hills bucket list.

Hahndorf Hill Winery: what do users think?

mandyGoTravelling: such a lovely place for us tasting wine and cheese, very delighted experience we have, all staffs are friendly, helpful and smiling haaa, it makes the whole experience even delighting yayaya, also Hahndorf Hill winery is pretty beautiful wine planting garden, having a mass of greenland, but sadly we come here in wintertimeso you can’t see the grapes on the land but just the plantwe order a glass of Green Angel Late Harvest Gruner Veltliner, recommended by a lady, and this one didn’t dissapoint us haa, instead surprising us in very good way, it tastes sweet but more than sweetness the flavor is complex, after we trying a glass and we buy a bottle, seriously quite attractive and perfect one for us for its sweetness as a non-wine fans haaacheese platter including four cheese, blue cheese, cheddar cheese, goose cheese and one mixed flavoring cheese, blue cheese is coming with the sweet ginger, and you will get some almonds on sides, enjoyed the cheese platter so much with Green angel haaaThe Hahndorf Hill Green Angel Grüner Veltliner Late Harvest 2021, described by the judges as 'delicious', won three trophies, including Best White Wine of Show and the competition's top honour, Wine of ShowThis deliciously delicate late-harvest wine gets its name from the Austrian word 'Gruner' which means green. The grapes for this wine are allowed a very extended period of ripening, during which the berries shrivel and therebyconcentrate the flavour, the sugar and the natural acidity.Since the climatic conditions required to achieve this are quite specific, this wine will only be made in exceptional years. The juice is fermented till the desired alcohol level is achieved, leaving a residual amount of sugar in the wine. This residual sweetness is kept in balance by a high natural acidity. The rich yet delicate nose is layered with spice, lemon zest, poached pear and meringue. The palate is unctuous yet lively with fresh citrus, delicatepoached fruits, white pepper and a lively long tail.Perfectly matched to your favourite dessert, all chocolate and a runny, ripe brie cheese! This wine will age and develop well for 30 - 40 years.so much fun today in the wine tasting and with many beautiful photos haaa, as first wine tasting in a winery, it’s such a great experience yaya, to be memorized haaaHahndorf Hill Wineryrating of mine: 5**

sydney goatcher: I did the ChocoVino red duo and absolutely loved it, the fortunato No 4 Dark was my absolute favourite! We also got the cheese plater which was excellent and a couple more samples of wine, my favourite being Zsa Zsa Zweigelt. Our server Kate really elevated our experience and overall made it an unforgettable visit!

Laura S: I highly recommend for the beautiful scenery and the wine is grown how they do in Austria so it is quite different to anything I have tried before.I did find the white wines to be more atringent and not mature enough but the reds had beautiful flavours. We ordered a few cases of red wine for delivery at home. The wine tastings are a bit different to back home in WA. You do not get discount or free tasting when you buy a bottle or case. I feel they would get more people buying the wine if the tasting was free when you spend X much.Overall I can not complain. The staff were knowledgeable and a must stop in Hahndorf.

Sarah Morales: It was an amazing experience. It's very small and intimate in the best way. The staff we all so kind and knowledgeable. Having an option for chocolate pairing was so unique and fun.

Liv Eldge: The scenery was gorgeous and the staff were fantastic, friendly and kind.A big shoutout to Kate. She was happy to help when one of us asked to switch out a wine.Outstanding customer service. Will definitely be going again.

Anthony Rix: Fantastic Wine and Chocolate Tasting, and spectacular Cheese Plate to top it off! Excellent Service too!

Anil Goudar: Great choice of Austrian wine selection and testing options. Our host Vishal was fantastic and knowledgeable

Laura Cook: This winery was the first stop on our tour and set the bar extremely high. My parents and I joined a tour where we could pick our own stops and we were all so pleased we chose Hanhdorf Hill. Vishal was passionate and knowledgeable and looked after us fabulously. We bought most of our wine from here and had the pleasure of watching a little of the grapes being harvested before Vishal very kindly brought us in some grapes to try with the matching wine.We paired our wine flights with a cheese platter which was just the right size to leave room for more wine!Do not pass this place up! The views are gorgeous and the wine even better.

Sally: Had a lovely and very interesting tasting here, with some unusual wine varieties. Great service from knowledgeable staff. There's also the option to do cheese or chocolate pairings, so something for everyone. Easy parking and access, and conveniently located once you've had your fill of cuckoo clocks and bratwurst in the local town.

Roberto Cortese: I had a great afternoon at Hahndorf Hill Winery. Great wines and friendly and professional service. Highly recommended.

Elizabeth Ellis: Delicious wines and very interesting stories. Kate was so helpful and made our visit feel very welcomed and worth the stop. The green angel dessert wine was a particular hit. Would highly recommend.

Crazy Pigeon: I took my wife to the winery to try out some of the wines, the staff are very welcoming and helpful, we certainly liked the chocolates and wines they had there, the Green Angel was a very sweet wine, greetings from Alice Springs.

Liesha Hanekroot: Beautiful Austrian varieties of wine, in a stunning setting. Loved it

Tony Baker: Went with some friends great wines staff great

Cheneal Puljevic: Exceptional wine and chocolate pairing. Vishal's service was the highlight!

Sew Vintage: Our experience at the winery was so different o any other tastings we had visited. We did the chocovino pairing with our lovely host Kate. So much knowledge and charm held into this winery. Will be back for the ice cream pairing!

Andrew Weidmann: Lovely vineyard, lovely view! And, of course, well worth tasting their wines.

Jeremy Blackburn: Really enjoyable wine tasting with a delightful cheese platter and lovely views.

Luke McNicol: Stunning food,Lovely wines!Warm and inviting.And a beautiful view!Any more said?

Pippy D: This was our 6th visit and it certainly didn't disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing. We have been coming since February this year and trying each month's menus. The highlight mains dishes for my husband this month was the mushroom tart and venison. Mine was the nomad chicken and the artichoke crustede. The desserts were all so delicious and intriguing. We could not pick a favourite this month, from the rice pudding with rhubarb and ginger, the Jerusalem artichoke ice cream with chocolate and blackberry, to the petite four of kiwi lolly and miso fudge. Yum yum yum 😋 . Well done chefs. The waiting staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. We learnt about the orchards on the property where the kiwi and fruits were picked from. Thanks for offering such high quality food and service. We will see you all again in August for the next menu. Love Dianne and Peter.

Yoyo Leung: Great tasting experience and lunch, will definitely be back.

Janet’s Journey: Greeted with such hospitality and friendly staff. Such a picturesque restaurant overlooking the vineyard. Very romantic setting indeed. The cold winter drizzle outside was warmed by the indoor fireplace upon entry.Set menus on offer, paired with premium wines from the vineyard..Each dish servings are petite but every single wine accompanied compliments the dishes so well. The staff really know the menu and the their wines, their knowledge is impeccable.Fine dining at its best.Thank you Gary, for the tip! Anyone suffering on the windy roads, take the route through woodside!

Sherry dezvarei: Amazing view, perfect for special occasions. It’s good to give it a go, they have only set menus.Portions are small as you see, perhaps if you’re those sort of individuals that eat a lot would not like this place. They have good wines to pair with the food.

Geoff: Fantastic setting, really well structured and informative wine flight experience. Very popular for dining although we didn't partake on this visit. We'll be back.

Rachael Angley: Beautiful venue, with stunning views, even on a wet foggy day. Sat by the toasty fire and had a lovely lunch for grandmas birthday.

Stephen Herriott: Excellent 7 course lunch..every dish was a wow! Staff are extremely friendly & knowledgable.. chef gave a special expression/complexity to all dishes. Wine experience was very well done with knowledge and attention to detail spending well over 30 minutes on our own ....forget cheeseplate with wine tasting..the chef produced 4 stunnings little tasters.

Susan Cameron-Hughes: Sarah was an absolute legend. Made us feel comfortable. Beautiful winery, beautiful wines and delicious canapes. Thank you Sarah

Patricia Chigwidden: Perfect lunch from beginning to end. Buzzy, blissful and balanced.

Lester Wong: We got married here and make it a point to come back every year for our anniversary. Every visit has been magical - the food, service and view. The menu never fails to surprise and impress us. Thank you!

Stuart Alcock: Travelling through the Adelaide hills we came across Mt Lofty Ranges Vineyard we stopped off for a glass of Rosé and champagne both were beautiful the staff were friendly and we sat outside in the sunshine overlooking the vineyards what a beautiful spot the wines were a little pricey but worth it as this is another place if we only had more time would have had lunch as the menu looked impressive. Next time we will as this is in a lovely location amongst the rolling Adelaide Hills .

Tahnee Andrea: We recently stayed in the area and enjoyed a sunset dinner at this wonderful restaurant to celebrate our honeymoon. We enjoyed every single course of the homage menu. Everything by was executed to perfection! They were extremely accomodating to dietaries and all of the staff had great knowledge of all the food and drinks. Our main waitress Bella went above and beyond to ensure we had the most amazing experience. We hope to return again soon!

Chris Robson: My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at this restaurant, and we were delighted with the experience. We ordered the ‘Menu Homage’ and savoured every dish. The service was exceptional, and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu. Despite the rain, we enjoyed the beautiful view of the grape vines from the outdoor deck. Overall, it was a fabulous afternoon.

Czt: I love the wine, it's a great experience. The entrance is free. If you want a tour, you must arrive at 11am with a guide and you must pay. You can tour it alone and sit in the restaurant where you can hear and taste all the wines you want, depending on what you like and the price of each glass.

Karl Perigo: Our lunch was absolutely delicious!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Rosie: You can come here from inside Botanic garden. They have a lot of wines to test with very modern system. They give you a card, insert the card to the machine, choose the wine and the amount you want to test, press the button and the wine comes out.The prices are from 3.7 dollars to 8 dollars for 25 ml of wine.I like the experience.

Grace G: Lovely spot for a wine flight and build-your-own platter, right by the botanic gardens

Frank Bruno: The self guided tour is somehow like ok that's it? Whas the matter? But the tasting experience with the wine on offer is fabulous. You can choose from various tasting scenarios.1. You choose from the so called flights, three of selected white wines, three of selected red wine es, three of selected sparkling g wines, three of selected sweet wines and three of selected top wines.

Ji-hoon Chung: I did not taste or experience it separately, but only toured the exhibition space once, so my evaluation is a bit ambiguous. The exhibition space is smaller than expected, but the exhibits are well organized.Tasting and dining are also available in the space on the first floor, so it would be a good idea to go there if it is inconvenient to go far from the city. It's a long enough distance to walk along the botanical garden.

Nathan Hong: Great selections of wine to tryWait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …

Aji Joseph George: Very good experience

寺島栄次郎: The contents of the exhibition were simple. There is a fee, but you can sample quite a few different types.Admission was free.

Laura Liu: Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No

Wong Kok Soon: Nicely arranged and design despite relatively small area. There is in-door and out-door seating for your wine enjoyment inside botanic garden

Monike San: The National Wine Centre in Australia offers a mixed experience. The food, while tasting good, is rather ordinary. For the kids, we ordered fish and chips and fried chicken, and for the adults, chicken burgers. Unfortunately, everything was fried. However, the wine tasting is top-notch. Trying the flight of both red and white wines is a must. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir stood out, but all the selections were delicious. The wine exhibition, though informative, is small and could benefit from expansion to provide more insights into winemaking. Overall, the National Wine Centre shines in its wine offerings but could improve on its food and exhibition space.

B Thomas: Amazing food and wine! Loved the card system to test all the wines we wanted at our own pace!!Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Ruud Maasdam: +The wine tasting system is greatWine selection is okAwesome building-The ‘museum’ needs a full rethink, old, too little ‘interaction’The staff at the tasting area need a ‘re-think’ as well, no energy no warmthMore boutique wines needed in tasting area

Kevin gave us so much insight into the wines we were tasting including how the soil and geological position of the vineyard the grapes were taken from influences the flavour of a vintage of the same age and process. Really enjoyed the conversation as much as the tasting. We were made to feel very welcome. Highly recommend! Thanks Helen and Kevin!

Laura Murphy: . We came into town late and Helen was very hospitable, explaining the area and the grapes to us. She recommended some lovely places for dinner and encouraged us to book quickly, which we were thankful we did. Dave the dog was the star of the show - greeted us at the door even! The wines were delicious and we enjoyed not being on a set list/time allocation. We didn’t feel pressure to limit our tasting or purchase a bottle. We could try what we wanted and enjoyed Helen’s recommendations. We purchased conservatively, it being our first winery in McLaren Vale, however can guarantee we will be back!

Dinah Kyd: This week we said goodbye to my wonderful husband with a Celebration of Life at Beresford Tasting Pavilion. We could not have chosen a better place. The grounds are amazing with views from every aspect. From start to finish, Belinda and the rest of the staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much effort and it was a beautiful day. The pizzas and cheese platters were plentiful. We also hired 8 rooms of Beresford accommodation. So clean and beautifully decorated. Each with it's own deck with a heater and barbecue. Our family will hopefully be returning next year as an annual remembrance.A big thanks to all concerned

Ayumu Shimada: Great service!Great location!Great food!Great wine!Great gin!Great whisky! For anyone who is looking for a great gateway, Beresford is the place. I will definitely come back with my family.

Birdie 70: We went for a wine tasting at Beresford as part of a birthday celebration day out in McLaren Vale. Faye’s service was exemplary. She was so friendly. She showed us the accommodation first and I’ll definitely be adding that to my wish list. It’s stunning! The location is so picturesque. The tasting room was warm and inviting, despite the cold weather outside. The wines in the tasting were delicious. Faye was very knowledgeable and there was a good balance between her talking with us and leaving us to enjoy the wine. I’d highly recommend Beresford to people visiting McLaren Vale. Thank you Faye for such a brilliant experience.

Hayden D'Addona: A great experience from Zak, provided insights into the wines and gins. Would recommend for anyone interested in wines or gins.

Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards -Cellar Door and Winery: what do users think?

Dean Moore: Always feel welcome at Oliver’s TrangaGreat location friendly and informative staff.Cant wait for our next experience there.

Mel Wilding: Great afternoon spent at Oliver's. Staff are very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I learn something new each time I visit. And of course the wines are amazing. I would say for atmosphere, staff and wines all exceptional.

Kathleen Grieten: Brilliant wines and beautiful setting! Best stop of the whole wine tour

Chris Henkens: Another really great members event. I can't fault it.

Fionn MacRedmond: We had a fab experience tasting some delicious wines courtesy of Liz. Definitely worth a stop!

Gemma Lawrie: Another great day on Saturday attending the Oliver's Members Day. Fantastic wine especially the Sparkling Fiano and lovely nibbles. Knowledgeable and friendly staff in a beautiful location. I'm all stocked up with my favourite McLaren Vale wines for another few months.

Rachel Ahrum Seo: Member Day was so worth the visit. Mark has been amazing, every team member was fabulous, extra credit to Bram! The wines and canapés were great. Marg was just gorgeous. Every visit has been very pleasant but this event was above and beyond. Great business.

Prudence Madigan: Great cellar door - we thoroughly enjoyed this to start our day. The bread is bloody fabulous - we missed out on purchasing the oil but it was also very easy to enjoy. Great venue, beautiful view and knowledgeable staff!

Rachel Carroll: Top notch wines, down to earth peeps and old fashioned hospitality. We’ve been buying Oliver’s Taranga wines for years and always visit the cellar door whenever we are in McLaren Vale. The wines are delicious and we LOVE the OT Team’s experimentation with European grape varieties - especially loving the Mencia in the Rose at the moment. But it’s the people that make this place truly great.I recently wanted to send thank you gifts to seven people and Sally placed seven individual orders for me and posted seven individual bottles of wine - with handwritten notes I had dictated - to seven lucky peeps… with free postage because we are wine club members.Who does that?Oliver’s Taranga does. Thanks for being wonderful humans and for making great wine guys!

Shawn Paul: Warm, welcoming, unpretentious cellar door wine tasting session. We were greeted and hosted by Evan who was friendly and brilliant at explaining about the different types of wine that we would be sampling, as well as the history of the vineyard. We had 6 types of wine, and personally the Shiraz was outstanding, and we bought a bottle home. The Chica Rose was also a very interesting one! Can’t miss out on mentioning the lovely warm bread & olive oil that was also provided. If you are still deciding on which cellar door to choose, look no further!

Sarah McDonald: Lovely wine tasting. Lee was very knowledgeable. Great wines, Loved The Banished fortified and the olive oil too.

MC Wine Tours: Olivers Taranga has it all, awesome wine, service, attitude & environment! This place is always the favourite when I take my guests here. The complimentary delicious bread & olive oil is a bonus too 😊

Alaina Lendon: Amazing wine, ambiance and service. Appreciate the sharing of wine knowledge and details we had not gleaned elsewhere.

Kayla Wharerau: My partner and I had a wonderful experience at Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards. Our host “Lee” was wine connoisseur and gave us the ultimate experience for our first winery visit. The venue was beautiful, the service was fantastic and the wine was Devine.

carla: After coming across this winery last year on a trip to SA my husband and I joined the mailing list and have been ordering wine ever since. These wines are the best! They really care about their customers and the handwritten notes with extra little treats given with each order does not go unnoticed! Thanks guys!

margie saimima: Love this place ❤️ good services from Chelsea 😃 good wine taste .. will go back here next time

Damon: So in hindsight we should have just spent the entire day here instead of visiting other wineries because nothing else came close to the wines we tried here. Outstanding Shiraz, great hospitality, and not an ounce of pretentiousness.

Karen Jeffery: We are Oliver’s members. We took friends for a tasting yesterday. They were very impressed and signed up. Mel served us and it was a great experience.

Yvette Bevis: Mel and Mark were super hosts! Definitely the highlight of my wine tasting day in Mclaren Vale.

Prudence Kok: Love the wine tasting experience here. Mel and Julia was so amazing and friendly, they are also very informative. Definitely will come back.
