Adelaide Central School of Art is delighted to present Shedding, a new solo exhibition by 2023 SALA feature artist Helen Fuller. This esoteric survey show has been staged to coincide with the publication of a new monograph dedicated to the artist’s prolific, multifaceted practice.

Come down and learn all about the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Effects and Entertainment Design). This is the degree that will kick start your career in the film or game industry.

Our Adelaide training facility will also be running a FREE life drawing class after the presentations! If you would like to come to the free life drawing session, please make sure to select it when you register. Space is limited so please get in quick!

Please note: The model will be in costume and we will provide paper, but you will need to bring your own pencils or charcoal.

The Adelaide Art Society was founded in 1952 by a small group of dedicated artists who wished to foster a high standard in the visual arts. Our Studio, built-in 1878 and used for many years as a grain store, consists of a large studio/gallery with excellent lighting, a smaller second studio, kitchen and storeroom. There are around 150 members of the Society, both amateur and professional artists.


We aim to foster art among our members and the wider community by the provision of a comfortable well equipped working space. We offer activities including

Painting groups (‘sketch groups’) covering a wide variety of subjects and situations.

Opportunities to exhibit regularly, informally through sketch groups as well as formally, in selected and unselected exhibitions.

I recently did a eight week course on abstract art though Adelaide Art Classes. It was brilliant! The instructor Joe led us through different techniques and styles within the abstract school, starting with sketching and moving onto collage work and oil panting. His advice and teachings were invaluable and changed my whole outlook on not just the creation of art but also taught me how to alter my traditional thought patterns and add innovation and problem solving to other aspects of my life. The course was structured yet we had the freedom to explore and create in ways individual to our taste and interest. Joe gave us activities and advice on what we were doing but always left a lot of space for us to develop our creativity. He showed us the work of prominent abstract artists to support his teachings which I found really helpful. Art Classes Adelaide is a collaboration between artists, art teachers and performers.

Our classes are hands-on creative sessions. They are fun, challenging, and forward-thinking and you get to spend time with like-minded people. We work together with Art Logic Gallery and their artists to create workshops suitable for all levels of ability that encourage confidence and inspire.

Our teaching is bespoke; we use sound, lights, props, exciting materials, and drawing, painting and sculptural techniques to create unforgettable visual experiences.

Classes take place in Art Logic’s gallery in Largs North or we bring our workshops to you.

The Certificate IV is the place to start if you are a beginner or wanting to do the Diploma and have not yet completed the Certificate IV.

The Certificate IV core topics are indicated in the yellow hexagons. These topics must be completed along with two electives (indicated in the grey hexagons), for a total of nine subjects in order to complete the Certificate IV.

In order to complete the Diploma you must have completed the Certificate IV. Then you must complete the four Diploma core topics (blue hexagons) and five additional electives. You will need a mix of group A, B and C electives per the chart legend.

However, if you are not wanting to complete the Certificate IV or Diploma, students are very welcome to take courses individually as long as they meet the course prerequisites stipulated in the course outline or can provide RPL or the equivalent.

Our aim at the Centre for Creative photography is always to help our students get the most out of their studies and to get them where they want to be. We will work with you to create a learning path that will work best with your schedule and goals.

4worldlovers: Danielle Barrie’s work often utilises simple geometric shapes to explore binary oppositions of the feminine and masculine, organic and industrial as well as using materials and surface finishes to create juxtapositions. She hopes to create work that is reached for everyday, forming part of individuals lives and memories. Wanting to explore the complex history of jewellery through using ancient skills rooted in craftsmanship Danielle hopes to create playfully refined pieces that uplift and embolden its wearer.
