anthony white: This is a great art school, regularly voted best in Australia. Superb location close to city but just far enough out to get grest free on site parking. Teaching staff are all practising artists. Only visual arts offered so you get specialised teachers. Give it a go.

I recently did a eight week course on abstract art though Adelaide Art Classes. It was brilliant! The instructor Joe led us through different techniques and styles within the abstract school, starting with sketching and moving onto collage work and oil panting. His advice and teachings were invaluable and changed my whole outlook on not just the creation of art but also taught me how to alter my traditional thought patterns and add innovation and problem solving to other aspects of my life. Our classes are hands-on creative sessions. They are fun, challenging, and forward-thinking and you get to spend time with like-minded people. We work together with Art Logic Gallery and their artists to create workshops suitable for all levels of ability that encourage confidence and inspire.

Dieni van Stralen: Everyone always says that they can’t draw or paint to save themselves. Well last Monday night proved them all wrong. I think most people were delighted with their first attempt in years or since school with what they achieved in just 2 and a half hours! This was a delightful evening and made very enjoyable by the expert guidance of our teacher Cynthia! I am looking forward to the next few weeks to hone my skills with my fellow students. Things are definitely better with bubbles!!

Rob Mack: Lovely intimate art gallery with a permanent section and a rotating gallery. Just finished some great paintings. Also has a small Cafe with delicious biscuits and drinks.
Lu Liu: Great art center. A good place for children to learn painting and feel art.

Claire Page: Fantastic gallery, cafe and gift shop. They also do art classes there. It has ramps throughout and at all entrances, making it accessible for wheelchair users.

Joy McGrath: We have now been to Pluckas 3 times. And each time has been a different experience. But never once has it disappointed. My 8 yr old had the most amazing time and came out with the most amazing painting and so much more confidence. My husband and I did a couples paint class and had such a wonderful time that we now want to do this regularly for a date night. Shane is a great teacher and very encouraging. We will definitely be back for more painting classes in the future!Update: my daughter had her 9th birthday at Plucka's and had such a wonderful time! And now her friends have also chosen the venue for their birthdays.
Gemma: I cant recommend Shane highly enough. We had my hens day here with 28 people. It was such an awesome night. Everyone had a ball. Shane was really easy to deal with and the whole thing ran so smoothly. A lot of the girls were really impressed with how their pictures turned out too, which was an added bonus!

Dottie Telford: A great community facility. Ceramics and painting studios. Classes available Monday to Thursday.A good basic teaching for beginner potters. It’s a small studio and at times, it is quite crowded. The instructors are very knowledgeable, and helpful.Basic glazing is included in the class. Firing of kilns is under the direction of the pottery director on a weekly basis.Workshops by professional artists are held occasionally. Extra costs are involved. But these are well attended and very informative and relevant.There is a gallery attached to the studios where student paintings and student ceramics are displayed and available for sale. Prices are usually very affordable. Open on Fridays from 12 to 4pm.The Fraser Hay Gallery hosts an annual SALA event in August. And is open for other occasions like pre-Mother’s Day, and during the run up to Christmas.Run by committee of dedicated people, this little art society provides a nice environment to learn new skills, or hone established ones.I would recommend.
