I recently did a eight week course on abstract art though Adelaide Art Classes. It was brilliant! The instructor Joe led us through different techniques and styles within the abstract school, starting with sketching and moving onto collage work and oil panting. His advice and teachings were invaluable and changed my whole outlook on not just the creation of art but also taught me how to alter my traditional thought patterns and add innovation and problem solving to other aspects of my life. The course was structured yet we had the freedom to explore and create in ways individual to our taste and interest. Joe gave us activities and advice on what we were doing but always left a lot of space for us to develop our creativity. He showed us the work of prominent abstract artists to support his teachings which I found really helpful.
