Moggie NZ: WOW. Never realised the variety of exotic meat you can eat until I went here! Venison, camel, wild boar, crocodile, buffalo, emu & kangaroo to name a few. The Venison steaks & backstrap are the best. Have just ordered more including buffalo for the first time so looking forward to trying it. Try something unique - well worth it & you won't be disappointed. . Reasonably priced too.

Their sausages are amazing. I regularly buy my kangaroo here. Plus you can buy locally made gin and vodka. Staff are always helpful and happy to answer any questions.

This time I bought, venison mince venison roast, diced venison, venison ribs, wild boar diced, wild boar minced, crocodile kebabs & sausages. I've never tried camel, so I bought camel mince & then I spotted camel brisket & thought heck why not & bought that too. Yes they're not cheap$$$, but a once a year splurge is okay. Alice F was very helpful & friendly.
Nicole Bell: My husband and I got some crocodile sausages and buffalo patties today. I poached the sausages for 5 min then put them in the oven at 190 for ten, OMG they tasted amazing! My husband really liked the buffalo patties too! We can't wait to come back and try the venison and the croc tail steak.. I absolutely recommend this stall! There's native condiments and herbs for sale here, also wild boar which I've never seen anywhere else.

Derek Rylah: The display at The Mettwurst Shop looks amazing. It's a proper market stall with cured, dried and preserved meat products. Mark got out his enormous salami while we were there which was quite the sight. We bought the chilli jerky, garlic mettwurst, firestarter mettwurst, and the two other mettwursts seen in the picture.The mettwursts are nice. The texture is spot on and the flavour is nice but nothing to write home about. Garlic mettwurst is excellent though. Firestarter is definitely HOT, wow!The jerky is really disappointing. It tastes like it isn't marinated and leaves you regretful of buying it.Overall 4 stars. Mark is quite the character and it's worth going there to mett him.

Helen Hoekman: A bit belated but wanted to share. I bought a 7kg turkey for Christmas day and1/2 leg of ham. Can only say how good they were! I stuffed the turkey with my family favourite stuffing- cooked basmati rice, sage, fresh chopped parsley, some mixed herbs, finely chopped onion, toasted slivered almonds, chopped ham from the leg, finely chopped onion, diced dried apricots, salt and pepper and egg to bind. I cooked the turkey for the exact time and temperature for my oven as instructed by the butcher. I let it rest for the given time and the breast in particular was so moist and tasty. The best one I've cooked!! The smoke on the ham was delicious and has lasted so well in the ham bag. Will be back! Thank you so much for the excellent service. Happy New Year to all! I have never had such consistent customer service across a whole team before, such a credit to the leadership team. So much respect for the way they have navigated the changing restrictions, always putting their community first and treating every customer with respect and compassion. And then there is their meat..You won’t find better quality anywhere else. Guaranteed. So much range, some very special aged meats. monica ryan: Got some of the steak packs last week, the porterhouse were great, tonight we used the scotch fillet to make steak burgers. I usually buy their minute steak which is fabulous and tender but tonight we used the scotch - game changer best steak burgers! Always rely on great quality.
