Restaurant Botanic: what do users think?

Ten Ton: The chefs here are a combination of both artists and scientists. This is not food served here, but beautiful and perfectly balanced taste stimulants whose flavours both confound and delight in their complexity. The best of which come before the maron, with the exception of the emu which is prepared in a way that patriotically rival the world’s best meats. Thanks to the excellent service, this is an exceptionally sophisticated experience and should be sampled by anyone who has the means. This experience would be best in the summer where twilight would allow visualisation of the garden surrounds and the preference for more sophisticated garden lighting, especially in the winter, is this restaurant’s only criticism. Bravo to the entire team.

Tim Quinney: A very unique experience. As the name suggests Botanics is definitely the theme of this restaurant and it's menu. Which personally I found to be at times challenging.Over the course of a few hours which never felt rushed, a very wide range of dishes were fed to us. There were none that were too difficult to palette but some that were a bit more floral than I perhaps was used to.The larger protein portions were all very tasty but I would say on the smaller end of fine dining tasting experiences.Overall I walked out feeling a little confused. It was certainly interesting but maybe not what I would say is delicious. Well worth the experience however.

AP MD: ADDIT: I have come back to Restaurant Botanic since their new head chef has started and am blown away by this places evolutionEverything that they excelled in before they have somehow taken to the next level. The delicacy and intricacy of each course is only overcome by the passion and complexity of the flavours. Everything this place does - whether it's food, service or environment - they do it to it's maximum potentialRestaurant Botanic has done amazing things for the South Australian food industry and I see no element of them slowing down. This time next year I believe they'll be spoken about on a global scaleIncredible experience and beautiful evolution - a must try for everyoneAdelaide's new restaurant has definitely made its mark. I was beyond blown away by the quality of the food, the devotion of the staff to making every little detail perfect, and the uniqueness of their approach. The food is not only amazing, but the entire experience is a journey. I see big things for this restaurant in the future, they should be very proud of themselves

James Alexandre: If you wish to experience the best Australia has to offer, and what we are all about, you must bring yourself to this restaurant and participate in the momentous journey Chef Jamie and Webster put in front of you. Their culinary artistry will evoke senses unknown to you prior to this experience. Every dish is a testament to their passion and mastery, transforming each bite into an unforgettable memory.

Frankie Lam: Cutting edge technique and creativity in using Australian local produces. Have both looks and favours. Very enjoyable 4 hours, do not think any other restaurant produce anything that can match this.Downside is service at the beginning, seems the bar and kitchen do not commute well and make it feel bit rush.Anyway, this is last week run by Justin James, will see if the new chef can maintain and improve the reputation.

Donna Stevens: First class attention to service for the customer, great welcome and attention through out the night.Highlight was the attendence to the table was from the pattisiere chef, that constructed the desserts. So nice to see someone from the kitchen at this price point.

Robert Scarborough: Mushrooms fudge dust with mushroom powder topped caviar. What who thinks of these things. The brilliant chef that’s. Who. I so glad they did.* A light fluffy mushroom delight with sea taste of delicious caviar. Brilliant way to finish. This was a night to remember a night of some of the best food I’ve ever tasted.I didn’t get to taste some of Botanic’s & Justin’s dishes. Though I did last week at Tasting Australia. What I did taste was the brilliance of Daniel & Tony from Sixpenny. A brilliance I am glad to have seen and eaten. I might just go to Sydney to do it again.WHAT A SENSATIONAL NIGHT.So after I walk for 30 minutes to a favourite bar. Taste 1/2 glass red. Nope body is so full of food I can’t even drink. Go figure. But true

Bob Elliott: Restaurant botanic should be rated as AAAAA. It really is a once in a life time experience. The friendly greeting by Tom and Ruby. Removing our coats and umbrella. The detailed explanation of the experience we were to have was first class. Each dish was beautifully presented with local shrubs, leaves, rocks from the botanic gardens being used to high light wash dish.If Tom or Ruby were not giving a detailed explanation one of the many excellent chefs were out. There were 29 diners on the night and the whole experience took 4 hours.I am already saving the pennies to go again.Well done

J H (justher): . I really want to try that duck but couldnt..If I do come again, I’ll do lunch just to get some time to walk around the garden as well.

will: Lovely staff, except for the tall skinny pale man who sat next me and stared at me while i was eating, on the way out he followed me, i told him to stop and threatened to call the cops. he persisted and continued his journey. he says "i have to pay for what i have done" to this day he haunts my dreams and sleeps under my bed. my Wife says he isn't real. "HE ISNT REAL WILLIAM" she has now left me.

T Nguyen: This place is amazing - we had the feed me, which was very generous and delicious! The only thing I would want a bit less of would be the bread - only because we really struggled eating dessert!Would definitely go again and have already been recommending to my friends.

Michelle Nottage: and the souffles alone. Food is all good with small but considered drinks menu. Located in the original post office it has plenty of character and the vintage scandi style decor works in well. We are already planning a dinner to try the suckling pigVegetarian options: Limited options for vegansParking: Parking is available behind the restaurant

Anne Rosewarne: Best place and my absolute favourite food , served by Belle, the owner with her husband Andy the chef. . The food is very flavoursome and different including starters, home made pasta dishes steaks and desserts. Beautiful homemade icecream and great coffee. I've been there 9 or 10 times in past 4 monthsIntroducing different friends and family each time. Mix up any of the dishes. Home charred bread from the bonfire each day.love this hidden treasure xxxxx

jose miguel gil: I've been a regular at this coffee place for over a year now, and it's become an integral part of my daily routine. The coffee is consistently good, but it's the exceptional hospitality that sets it apart from other coffee shops in the area. The staff is always friendly, engaging, and welcoming. Special mention to Hannah and Mathilda for making every visit a pleasure, as well as former staff members Anna, Molly, Mathilda, and Eloise, who have all contributed to the warm atmosphere. My daily coffee routine is definitely a highlight of my day!

GEORGE GRAMM: Nestled in a lush forest setting, this restaurant is a true hidden gem. The atmosphere is serene and enchanting, with its beautifully crafted décor blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Every detail, from the rustic furniture to the soft ambient lighting, creates a warm, inviting vibe. The food is equally impressive, with each dish thoughtfully prepared using fresh, local ingredients, bursting with flavor. The service is impeccable, with staff who are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. A perfect spot for a peaceful escape and a memorable dining experience!

Krystle Jencik: At first I looked at the menu and was like “There is only a few options” and “how does a kid choose off this menu” 😅However after choosing what I thought would be a basic meal turns out it was LIT 🔥EXQUISITE, BLOODY DELICIOUS!Service from the second waitress was delightful and she has great upsell skills.Great smile, cheerful tone and lovely personality.I’ll be back - *insert Arnold Schwarzenegger voice *Krystle Jencik ❤️

Soul Acoustic: We had an amazing lunch today. Chose the Foragers Tasting menu both plant based and general and it was phenomenal. The service was top notch. The two waitresses that were there today 17 June 2024 for lunch were amazing and were so friendly. We also got to say hi to the chef Luke as well. Each different dish we had was full of unique flavours : a result of combining local produce and high quality ingredients. It was a unique experience to have been able to taste local produce complimented by the freshness of the ingredients. You'd think for something like this you might not get enough serving sizes but we almost couldn't finish our last serve of food as the quantity is a lot when considering all the dishes that come out. It's a lot and very satisfying.. This was topped off with probably one of the best deserts we've had. Will definitely visit again when the seasonal menu changes again. Thank you to the team for making our experience such a delightful one.Vegetarian options: Great plant based options

judi marlow: in coats , beanies and scarves...felt like we were dining alfresco..Really need to sort their heating out , can't imagine the experience mid winter.. not fine dining atmosphere...

Bel Harper: We had pre dinner drinks b4 ONG on Rundle. The wine n beer went down well. The attitude of Sophie to bar tender put a stop to that, shouting across the bar, twice. Small??? Then proceeded to literally throw the atm machine at me...this was after I interrupted her chatting with a colleague, a fill line of customers at the bar, my partner bought a beer..paid..then was told 'your welcome ' even before he had nano second to say thanks, with the implication that thanks was not in his dialogue. Gigi Huang: It is a vegetarian restaurant opened by a Taiwanese family. I come here every time I miss the ancient rice noodle soup. It is the best tea shop in Adelaide, but the milk is not delicious. There are also Taiwanese snacks downstairs. Although there are few items, you can browse them.

Cheryl: Best place to come for vegans/vegetarians. The owners are super nice.

Chris Green: This is easily my favourite place in the CBD to eat, and has been for 20 years. Everyone who knows about this little gem raves on about it, because the food is absolutely amazing but also the staff are some of the most pleasant people I’ve ever met. I always feel enriched when I leave Thea Tea Shop, from the fantastic food and warm staff.

andrew lord: A little oasis of vegan calm.A restaurant with "sweet and sour thing" on the menu is obviously completely endearing. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, the serves are generous, the prices are good.Meat eaters need not be put off by the vegan thing. 4chillies: I'm a carnivore but I'm a long time fan of Thea Tea Shop. It's plant based but still filling and flavoursome. Joe Partington: Unreal atmosphere, the restaurant really shows the principles of connecting with a customer with their interactive choice of charity cause that induces humble and selfless energy the establishment emits. Food was absolutely very scrumptious, the two of us only a quick burger to snatch before leaving, but was absolutely worth the detour.

Heath Wickins: Ordered a lamb burger which was fresh and tasty and arrived shortly after ordering.I had a friend order a meal from a competitor at the same time and they forgot to include the burger. An infinitely better experience and I will be back.

thedookie muncher: such good food, the service was amazing, staff were friendly and caring. We were sitting outside, still warm and could hear the music quite well, the vibe was there. Friday night, was real busy and it still only took 8 minutes for a table of 4 to receive all sides and mains, absolutely coming bacmVegetarian options: the option's for vegetarian burgers was really good, the burger wasnt dry like they usually are. Taste was definitely there, one of the best vegetarian burgers ive tried.

Gandharva Ashtekar: We recently celebrated a birthday lunch at Grill'd, and it was a delightful experience overall. The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff were attentive and accommodating, making our celebration feel special from the moment we arrived. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the burgers. They were not only delicious but also clearly crafted with high-quality ingredients. Each bite was packed with flavor, and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The emphasis on healthy options was evident and appreciated, aligning perfectly with our preferences. However, I would like to provide some constructive feedback regarding pricing. While we understand the commitment to quality, some of our guests felt that the prices were slightly higher, especially for a group celebration. Offering occasional promotions or group meal packages could make dining here more accessible for larger gatherings and encourage more frequent visits.Despite this minor concern, our experience at grill'd was memorable, thanks to the excellent food and service provided. We left satisfied and impressed with the overall experience. We look forward to returning and would recommend Grill'd to anyone looking for delicious, quality burgers in a welcoming environment.

Caitlin Pearce: fantastic especially for those with dietary issues !loved it

Cara Mia: . We also had Crispy Bacon & Cheese on a panini roll. I'm still impressed with their burgers & fries, which I've had before at their TTP store. Known for its rich taste, it's grilled to a perfect medium rare with a succulent chewy tender juicy texture, carrying a bold smoky meaty savoury flavour. Served with fresh crisp rocket leaves / arugula and juicy cherry tomatoes, which lend vegetal bitter herbal sweet flavour. Nice medium-sized potato fries / chips with a crisp outside and fluffy inside lend starchy salty savoury sweet flavour. Even vegan options and other dietary needs are welcomed.Great atmosphere and the staff know what’s up when it comes to service and their customers; and knowing the menu.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vego food on the menu.Dietary restrictions: All dietary needs are catered for - they’ll be sure to find something for you

Foodie Files Melbourne: We visited Africola for dinner which is probably the coolest restaurant in South Australia and really reminded me of some of the fun eateries in London, turns out the owner is from the UK and has settled in Adelaide, lucky for us he’s brought an immaculately styled venue with a killer atmosphere.Food wise my favourite was the peri peri chicken and the yummy carrot side. The chicken skin sandwich is kind of a signature but I wasn’t a huge fan. If you can book into the open kitchen seating that would be a really cool experience also.

Fionn MacRedmond: I mean sometimes, very rarely, you go somewhere and everything delivers. This was one of those places. Delicious. Delicious. Delicious. Truly, it was elevated. And interesting...not just boring generic blah blah food other places churn out. This was menu was creative and with intention. We're from Melbourne so sadly won't be back anytime soon, however will be singing the praises for some time to come. Bravo..Brava!

Carolyn Lee: Innovative and flavourful food with superb service and great atmosphere. If you want to try something a bit different in Adelaide, this is the place to go. All the food was incredibly tasty and well thought out with interesting flavours but still using familiar ingredients. The service was SO good here, our waiter was attentive and enthusiastic without ever being pushy. Loved the vibe of the whole restaurant.Would recommend the Peri Peri Chicken, Chicken Liver Pate and Crispy Chicken Tea Sandwich.

Aaron Henderson: My wife and I just rolled back to our Air BnB after an exceptional experience at Africola. The food ,service and the atmosphere was on point. It was a first time trying a fusion of African food and I can happily say we'll be back again.Well done team Africola 👏

Rosey Connolly: Big thank you to the team at africola ..wow wow wow.. amazing service ..amazing culinary delights.. we sat outside ..where warm enough.. but mostly the lovely young lady that served us on the night made the outing even more special..big thank you ❤️ the wine selection we had to choose from..perfect .. loved the B Chardonnay and even got to met the wine maker 😄. We thoroughly enjoyed the even .. 10 out of ten ..❤️💯

Steve Tempest: I really enjoyed my dining experience here, and will be remembered. A lot of new food experiences with each course and all were extremely tasty.I'd definitely recommend this place for people who like to try new things they wouldn't get elsewhere. Everyone left feeling very full which is often hard with a degistation style sitting.

Maria Kl: Food was exceptional and lovely experience.

Mel: Totally lived up to the reviews. Amazing unique and interesting food, that's great value. They only do feed me menus and there was SO MUCH food! They happily put it in takeaway containers for us. Drinks were excellent. The vibe and playlist was spot on. Must go if you're in Adelaide! Remember to book in advance. Also, they aren't open all day, even though it says they are on the website. Only open from 6 pm for dinner.

Chris Braeker: What a revelation this place is! The food was absolutely spectacular and full of surprises. We loved every moment of it. Our group of three was sat at the bar which was great to appreciate Gios handy work. He was the best host and made us feel comfortable. We will certainly be back!
