Ian johnson: I can absolutely recommend Hickinbotham's for every step of home building.My experience started with the land purchase, I had been trying to buy land for over 12 months with no luck. The Hickinbothom agent secured a block at the first sale available. Then every step along the path of building they kept me informed of progress and the home was completed within 12 months. Then after completion any minor concerns I had were fixed in the 3 month period after handover. all the staff were very friendly and helpful . I am a very happy customer and feel like I made the correct decision building with them when I here about all the other builders going broke and people loosing their money.

Chelsey Secker: We recently built our first home with Peter and couldn't be happier with the result.We did a lot of looking around and talking with other builders before we started but they didn't offer exactly what we wanted and seemed to always have hidden costs and clauses involved that they tried to hide. Rod Blackborough: Building a house is quite a complex process and completing a build on time, on budget and without having to reach for the valium to bring down the stress levels is rare - SA designer Homes managed to do it and made it look easy. Peter, the principal of SADH, was extremely knowledgeable and gave us some excellent advice over the course of the build and as he was also our site manger we could contact him with any issues which he generally resolved very quickly - every time! Communication is first rate coupled with his own very high standards and good sense of humour certainly made him a pleasure to work with.Overall, a good experience with a great result.

Sean Matthewson: Overall the build process with Kookaburra went fairly smoothly. As it was we built at one of the most challenging times with material and tradesman shortages so the forecasted time frame blew out. The planning stage was well handled with Dylan and Jake and we were able to design the house we wanted, however we struck some holdups with council which further delayed construction. During the build as mentioned above there were times the house was delayed, however our site manager kept us informed as to progress when he was able. The wait was worth it in the end as the quality of our home is great, there’s nothing we are unhappy with as a finished product. We would recommend Kookaburra to anyone.

ZPH Harrison: We've just received the keys to our 2 storey home on the Fleurieu Peninsula and we are very pleased with the result! Michael and the team were easy to contact and very responsive to our questions. Once started, the build was very quick with nil significant interruptions. There were delays getting started but these were not beyond what is/was generally being seen in the building industry, and we weren't promised anything that couldn't be delivered, which we really appreciated.

phil durbidge: I had a new home built on site and have experience have been an owner builder myself in the past. The whole process was a pleasure, there were delays in obtaining timber as the whole industry suffered the same problems but when construction started it was seamless. One slight problem with grouting but was fixed after a phone call. Contacted them three months after the build requesting a receipt and had it in 15 minutes. Highly recommend Phil D

Jim Burnside: We lost our house during the 2019 Cudlee Creek bushfire so it was important for us to partner with someone who would make the rebuild process as painless as possible. We couldn’t be happier to have selected Enduro as our builder. Jackson and his team operated with integrity, were committed to quality, and ensured the building process was collaborative, professional, and stress free and that we had complete visibility on every aspect of the build from start to finish. Our build schedule was just over six months yet Enduro managed to achieve handover ahead of time during a period when the building industry was challenged by delays and material shortages post-COVID.Jackson’s commitment to customer service also extends well beyond the original build. Two years after handover we had a problem with a major system and were trying to resolve it under warranty with the original supplier which was proving difficult. We contacted Jackson and he immediately stepped in and drove the issue on our behalf to have the system replaced.We would definitely build with Enduro again and have no hesitation in recommending Jackson and his team if you are looking for a builder who will provide honest, upfront advice on your building project and will deliver on their commitments.
Greg Beaumont: We are very pleased we chose Enduro for our build which was completed about 18 months ago.Jackson and his team had the experience and knowledge to deal with the issues arising from challenges with a sloping block and the situation of the site.We were impressed with the philosophy of sustainability and energy efficiency being incorporated into the building design, and the finished product is outstanding.We liked that our initial consultation was with Jackson, the owner of Enduro, and not a salesperson – this ensured he understood our needs and this translated into the design phase.The company are ethical, professional, transparent and the constant communication kept us informed throughout.The concept design met our brief, and with everything co-ordinated and access to the schedule ensured that we knew what was happening and kept work progressing. Having access to the property throughout the build and the online project system was fantastic.The pricing process meant there were no additional variations at extra cost. Although building during Covid meant there were increased costs associated with building materials from our original estimate, Enduro were terrific in helping us to achieve cost savings where appropriate.We have no hesitation in highly recommending Enduro Builders.
A Resch: We started our journey to build a house in 2022. After spending a significant amount of money and time with an architect we had to cancel the contract with them as they could not stick to our budget and came back with proposals 3x more than what we discussed for months. We then found Enduro and ever since the first meeting we have had nothing to complain about. From the start we mentioned our budget and Enduro made sure to stick to this without any surprises. Enduro have just finished building our house which was finished within 11 months of signing the contract. They managed to build our house for 1/3 what the architect quoted and a design which is much more practical and liveable. The energy efficiency of this house is remarkable - we can turn on the heating for a few hours and 2 days later it is still a comfortable temperature even through we are in the middle of winter.We cannot recommend Jackson and his team enough. It has been a pleasure to work with them over the past year.

Trav B: We chose to engage Enduro Builders for our renovation because of their reputation and experience with low-energy / PassivHaus homes.- they specified the works with a lot of detail, so there were no unexpected variations and stuck to budget- excellent communication with the site manager and using their online platform- the work that all trades did was excellent in quality- this work was done during the peak of Covid - other builders were having problems with material availability, trade availability and price rises - Enduro navigated all of this with no impact to our project.Since our project was finished, I regularly see Enduro Builders winning awards in the annual Master Builders SA Awards - which is good sign that others are having the same pleasant experience with Enduro Builders as us.I've had friends with recent horror stories about dodgy workmanship, trades not showing up, and major structural issues found after hand over. David Sheridan: Enduro Builders built a large alfresco entertainment area onto the rear of our house. The Director of the company Jackson Digney was extremely easy to deal with, he thought of things we did not consider also providing advise on the aesthetics of the build. His employees and contractors were simply magnificent also consulting with us the whole way through the build to ensure we were happy with how it was going and also providing advice on some of the design which lead us to making minor alterations on the run. The end result is that we have a well built alfresco area which everybody who comes to our house is in awe of. My wife and I are extremely happy with the end result and how it was such a seamless process.

Hamish: Daniel from GJ North East has been fantastic. For the last 6 months Daniel has helped myself and several other home owners who were left in the lurch after our builder and developer went bust. He went above and beyond, going beyond the scope of his contracts with us, out of his own good will. Daniel has a high attention to detail, takes pride in his work and always remedied any issue when brought to his attention. His handyman Robbie is great as well, as are all of his contractors. Very supportive throughout the whole process.
chris jones: designs were shown that fit our budget with preferred design shape that could be best reworked for least cost.3. After my wife decided that she wanted greater living room m2 it was found in a cost effective manner.4. aircon specifically chosen? Done!5. Council giving me grief? Daniel stepped in and resolved it.6. I have an issue finding a solution to something that was not part of the building contract, however the issue stops me progressing to next stage. Daniel gave up his Sunday and fixed it.7. A commercial builder I work with looks over the contract, points out questions I SHOULD have asked before signing. Gave me a series of follow up questions for better clarification.Within an hour I had written confirmation of the answers. With further clarification provided by the relevant suppliers. My commercial builder mate was completely impressed.8. I have safety concerns about burglars breaking into the house through normal size windows, smaller size windows were worked out, despite being a non standard idea.9. I have significant delays caused by everyone else who could possibly cause me issues.Daniel has kept me up to date with impacts and outcomes.Would I build in Salisbury city again? NO!Would I sign with GJGARDINER Holden Hill again? After 3 year later, YES.Second Edit: Daniel still answering my calls,3 year later, some thoughts;1. If going to have no carpet, all hard floors, buy a hard floor cleaner, a broom and mop just doesn’t cut it.2. Go the ceiling fans. We didn’t and a year of middle temperatures are annoying as we have to open windows then close for rain/stinking hot weather rapid changes.3. Get built in cupboards in your WIR. We thought we would save money buying from ikea as needed, yeah NO. Yeah real pain, just get built in cupboards.4. Have Daniel include a workshop in your garage, so worth the money.5. Get the water filter to the kitchen mains. Life changing.6. Definitely lighter colour doors/garage doors. We are so happy with ours.7. Ask about insulation on your garage doors.8. Heat pump HWS, just do it! It took 6 people 3 days to overwhelm ours and run out of hot water- solved by adding 2 hours daily to heating times, then switched back when they left.9. After 3 year and several seasons, mid winter outside, walking around in shorts and T-shirt inside, extreme wind/rain/heat/cold? Meh, only change would be to include garage door insulation.10. Ceramic cooktop. Just do it. My worst disaster of a dinner - 2 minutes of cleaning.Build complete.Handover was 24 December 2021. now it's 4 May 2024.A couple of outstanding issues were resolved when the items arrived in Australia - if it's not in country it can't be installed.We had to spend $3000 on blinds due to unforeseen issues with privacy. Back glass sliding door was more revealing than expected, 2 bedroom windows exposed to eavesdropping from 2 story house nearby
E D: Cannot recommend them enough. The staff are wonderful at all levels and tremendously helpful when it comes to any queries for a bit of a beginner like we were.We didn't feel pressured at any point and felt very well treated even during Covid where difficulties preventing standard methods of working were occuring.

Whilst having this discussion we received a phonecall from Ryan Stannard, just checking in to see how we are going after we'd had ONE meeting with them. Safe to say that made our decision for us, and we were happy every step of the way. The whole team there became friends of ours, and we felt everyone was helpful and approachable, and sought to solve all of our issues.Fixed price guarantee: Yes. They mean it.Custom builder: Yes, you'll never see another house like ours anywhere, but we have a house even better that what we had dreamed because their design team is so good the improved our dream home to be even dreamier.Flexible: Yes, they met with us and discussed options right through the process, and were always forthcoming with ideas and suggestions in case things needed to be adjusted.On time: Our build started during Covid, so many people would already expect massive blowouts and delays. Nope, ours finished on time, actually a little early. When we see a large volume builder across the road who started a couple of months after ours are still going, and we've been enjoying our house for over a year.After handover: Great. Standards say that they stand by their product, and they mean it. They only bite off what they can chew, so that they can provide the service that they offer. We've always found the team there to be helpful, even after having moved in, even despite a record low amount of minor fixes, many of which barely even rate a mention.Horror stories: We've heard them all, but the only one we can imagine from Standards would have been if we chose anyone else.I feel like I've blabbed on enough, if you've read this far I think you've got the vibe I'm putting down here. nicholas maxwell: After exploring our build through many different builders, we went with Metricon due to their high quality finishing and good reputation by word of mouth from friends and others in the industry.We had a great design phase with Dennis Meaker, who was very patient and insightful and we modified a kalarney 29 almost into a full custom design. It was a 6 month process to signing the contract, as we didn't want make a mistake, and we ended up very happy with the design.We did have a few hiccups through presite and with our first presite manager, who ended up being moved on from the company, causing a few delays, but when Jacqui Day took over, we moved through to construction phase quickly and were very happy with her communication, knowledge and capacity to get things moving.Our construction manager was also great in Michael Demant, who was able to give advice on site requirements and get our slab booked and completed within a great timeframe.The real highlight of our metricon experience was the build stage. Having built a home before, we knew that the success of a build is dependent on the site supervisor, and we could not have got a better one in Brett Camac! He had a fantastic team of trades, who you knew were going to do a great job for him because he is well respected and just a great guy. Brett was all over the build, engaging in all aspects of the process and always keeping us updated along the way. He was always obliging, even with all of our many questions and helped make some great tweaks and adjustments along the way that had been missed. His communication was first class and everything that he said was planned and going to happen, did. Even through a covid build, where materials and trade delays were the norm, he sourced materials quickly and was able to complete a large 400sqm build through winter and up the top of a hill with rough access in 7 months. An incredible feat! He inspired confidence for us in uncertain times and made us feel at ease the whole time.Tim the painter was also phenomenal, and when we did the house walk through, there was hardly anything to fault. The finishing was second to none.Due to the build stage going so well and the quality of the finished product it was impossible for us to not give 5 stars.Would recommend to build through Metricon and have already done so to our friends and family.
Antonio Pagnani: Yesterday we got our house from Metricon and they did a fantastic job. The whole experience from beginning to end was filled with incredible customer service and speed. We demolished the house on Valentine’s Day 2023 and the house was ready by Halloween 2023. So quick and my building inspector said it was structurally well done.Throughout the build the sight manager Steve Hall messaged me every time the next thing got done so I could go get photos. He planned and handled all the Tradespeople really efficiently.Prior to that, Gisette Gunn helped us with Selections and the pre Sight phase and that was so much fun picking everything. My advice to you the reader is just go with everything they recommend to get if you can afford it. Every little extra we chose makes the house that much better.Finally thanks to the sales rep Grant who spent the time helping me select a design and took the time to adjust the quotes a dozen times for multiple plan designs which would have been time consuming. That was over a year ago but I remembered your effort and thank you still.Jasmin and I had an amazing experience and we have an amazing house. Thanks Metricon

Mahayla Rose: The beginning of the build process was a bit rocky and there was a few speed bumps like with everything nowdays since covid.But the last part of the build is what the 5 star review is about.We were at the last half of our build when we got an email to say we were having a site manager change over, this was a quite stressful time and we didn’t know what we’ were in for.We definitely did not expect to be moving In a month later. Brett Camac, since the day the change over happened Brett has been incredible. Communication, notice, service and respect. Brett knew we were under a fair bit of pressure and needed to move in as soon as possible due to our rental lease expiring and how much pressure the rental market is currently under, with this Brett pushed along trades and used local trades to ensure the remaining jobs were completed professionally but as quickly as possible. During this process Brett updated us multiple times a week with detailed phone call conversations, to ensure we were both on the same page, good honest communication. Brett also respected the fact that we were first home buyers and are new to everything, he took the time to explain processes and didn’t make us feel like we are burden or that we were annoying.If you are thinking of building and unsure of which building company to go with, pick Metricon and request Brett Camac to be your site manager.Thank you Brett for turning such a stressful time into a positive and happy time for us.

So I arranged a meeting with Steve and Roger and they worked with me to come to agreement on price, and our build began.Nathan was our contracts administration and was the ultimate professional. He was on top of every aspect; noted every change and variation. Most importantly he gave us sound advice on finishes, this experience comes from 20 plus years of building homes. We would send him photos of ideas we liked for front doors, stair cases etc, and he would somehow make it happen. They also provided stying expertise by way of Broadfeather Design. The girls at the studio there helped us to work through various Pinterest images to consolidate a solid overall look that we are more than happy with today.Then enter the star of show, the building supervisor Luke Byass and his tradesmen. Luke took the time to get to know me and understood that I am fussy and wanted to be involved in every decision no matter how big or small. He would constantly call or msg me and allow me to do the same. His trades were of the highest class and truly care about the workmanship. Nothing was too hard for Luke. If I had a problem or wanted a change, he would simply say “let me have a look at it and see what I can do.”There were minor mistakes made throughout the build

Samantha Brady: Thank you SA housing for a stress free first experience in building our forever home. Every person we came into contact with is kind , caring and very knowledgeable. From meeting Ash at the display home to Adam our site supervisor who went over and beyond, looking at every detail and keeping us in the loop the whole way. To the ladies in the office, thank you for keeping us informed of what to expect and when , this kept us at ease and everything went so smoothly. This was our first build, and if we had to do it again , I would hands down, would build with SA Housing all over again. Cannot thank the SA housing team enough, for building our beautiful forever home.

jay patel: We have just finished building with SA Housing after having heard great things from others. Our consultant Llewelyn Dias has been amazing. He has provided us with so much time, knowledge, support and guidance. He has really thought about us as customers, what we require and what would work for us. He is seen as a trusted advisor to us and has taken the time to build that support as well as been honest with us so we can make the right decisions for us whilst also relying on his expertise. He has also recommended Landscaper to do our landscapping after finishing build. During construction communication from office/admin team was very poor but he was alsway there for us to answer any question we have related to build. John Bullas: I spoke with Rick who was very helpful with the whole process and answered any questions that I had. I felt like he wanted me to have a house more than I did and I felt looked after throughout the whole process.
Craig March: We have had an overwhelmingly positive experience all the way through with SA Housing Centre. From the initial contract discussions with Danielle through the pre-construction phase liasing with Kathy and team to now having construction well underway. It has been such a pleasant experience and everyone has been so helpful and willing to offer advice and explain aspects we may not have fully understood being first time home builders.

JARRAD HIND: I was so nervous the night before I couldn’t sleep thinking about putting the house together. Never did I realise it would be so simple having Rutu on board , instead of just the two of us to make decisions on our own on something we’ve never done before , rutu was an absolute champion. We didn’t feel rushed. We didn’t feel uncomfortable. We didn’t feel we were asking too much ,Every option was available and if not there was another option thanks to rutu , she made it work , a 5 five star experience. We appreciate it very much . 😊

Their response is always friendly and plans will be made to help. Their word can be trusted and their foundation follows our beliefs which made the relationship and trust so much easier and stronger. They always went out of their way to help us and the best part of all was that they delivered a 5 star dream home that we are so proud of. Their timings, even in this crazy time of material and labour shortages were fantastic, with plans being made all the time and committed trades who worked at their high quality level meant that we were delivered our home in good time. We can without a doubt recommend Claridge Construction to build your home. At the end you will feel and see the blessings and favour that this company has on them and that will be poured out on you and your home.
