Globe Medical Adelaide: what do users think?

Yannis Brown: Had a vaccination the doctor I was to see was running behind the staff arranged for another doctor to see me who had a moment and cut my wait short. Brilliant!Update: 2024 another trip to Asia and the doctor was very thorough with expectations, how to best protect myself based on my plans and what vaccinations I should look at. In the end, I was fairly up to date and just had a booster for TDAP.

Derick Hardaway: Dr. Stacey was nice and provided pin-point advice for my situation. Great one.

Carolyn Cochrane: I have been coming here for many years for travel vaccinations. Globe continue to be a very thorough and friendly service. The vaccination experience is painless which is always a bonus! I would highly recommend Globe Medical.

Margaret D.: We have seen Dr Bob Kass since 2018 for travel medical advice and recently went again in readiness for a trip to Sri Lanka, Turkiye and Europe. Dr Bob has a wealth of knowledge about travel locations and potential medical issues and risks that could arise. His medical knowledge and experience is extensive and is he is thorough and confident in the advice he provides. Dr Bob seems to have travelled everywhere and is genuinely interested and encouraging of his patients travel plans/adventures. Even the senior ones! The medical kit and travel book authored by Dr Bob are invaluable and certainly helped me avoid a nasty skin infection on a previous trip. The front desk staff were courteous and efficient and the nurse who administered our vaccines was very professional and gentle.A 5 star medical practice for travellers.

The Lovely Rod: . From that, he is able to advise about any vaccinations I may need, which ones would be optional, and which ones aren't required. I've always valued that honest advice and over the years, have now build up both my level of protection and my general travel knowledge! All the other staff in the clinic have always been welcoming and professional with a good sense of humour.Globe Medical was initially recommended to me from a friend when I first began travelling overseas as an adult and in turn, I can't begin to recommend them highly enough to you.

74yerffej: My son is in year 11 and travelling to Borneo on a school trip. The doctor at Globe Medical had incredible knowledge of the area and what was required to keep him healthy. He took my son through the process in a kind and informative way. The staff took time and effort to make sure we were well informed. Highly recommend this clinic!

Jill Bedworth: Very knowledgeable and helpful. Always have an appt before o/seas trips.

Amanda Altman: and now Dr Philpott who both helped me through a very hard time

Istvan Heinrich: Very professional service. No waiting. Experienced, caring, friendly doctors and staff. I live in Marion but I'm a client in this medical centre for at least 8 years.

Courtney Tasker: Been going to GM for decades for all my overseas trip medical advice. Dr Bob Kass is always a wealth of comprehensive knowledge that he always shares with you. He takes a great interest in your itinerary to ensure all elements are covered in his consultation. And the best thing is "Dr Bob's Little Medical Guide" which has been one of our travel essentials god-sent both in domestic and overseas situations. The other essential has been their filtration water bottles.

Celina McKenzie: As I have previously experienced I had an incredibly comprehensive consultation with a very knowledgeable and experienced travel Doctor.

Gavin Medhurst: Always extremely well looked after at Travel Globe Medical. Very thorough, knowledgeable and experienced. Staff very friendly, efficient and helpful. Dr Bob Kass is a treasure.

Sharon Phillips: Dr Bob Kass at Globe medical is very thorough and knowledgeable about all medical needs for any overseas trip that people are planning. He treats everyone individually, especially considering your current medical situation. He makes sure you are fully vaccinated for your trip and even looks at other health issues that might arise. We wouldn't go anywhere else. Thanks Globe Medical

Kerri O'Shaughnessy: Had a great experience today at Global Medical. From the moment I arrived everyone was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. All my questions were answered and my travel medication and vaccinations are done. Very efficient. Thank you all

A C: I have been coming to Globe Medical since 2010 for all my international travel vaccinations and medical advice. I have nothing but praise for all the practice staff and Bob Kass is the most knowledgeable and kindest doctor with vast travel experience and a willingness to share that. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and highly recommend Globe Medical to any travellers.

Deeksha thakur: and the doctor Michael very friendly and an amazing doc.

Karen Hewton: Dr Elaine Powell was very approachable. She went through each disease, it's risks, our choices. She had a balanced approach when making suggestions. Great service from Dr Powell. THANKYOU

Focus Shoulder Specialists: what do users think?

Kosta Soumelidis: Dr Dan has been outstanding pre and post surgery. He’s extremely clear and kind and has been exceptionally thorough when answering my questions, helping me to understand my surgical procedure. I have been a yoga teacher and practitioner for over 25 years and have to say that after my shoulder surgery I’m able to get back to practising and teaching yoga without any pain or discomfort.I cannot recommend Dr Dan highly enough. The staff at Focus are also always helpful and nice.

Gary: 65 year old male cyclist off at 35kmh grade 5 separation 😢 a mate referred Dr Dan 🙏 I can’t properly express how grateful I am to Dr Dan and his team, 6 weeks post op physio was beyond delighted at what range I had back as am I 😁Thankyou so much dr Sommit DanGary Edwards

Mik Mullen: I had my appointment with Dr Dan today and I have to say as soon as I walked in I felt at ease straight away. Dr Dan was absolutely one of the most professional people I’ve ever dealt with he was clear in his explanations of my issue and how to deal with it I cannot recommend Dr Dan highly enough

Samy Kafagy: My overseas holiday in Dubai ended with grade 6 AC joint separation. I contacted Dr Dan's rooms and sent all my emergency reports to him while on my flight back.Dr Sommit is professional, straightforward and knowledgeable.I am now recovering after a keyhole intervention. And the experience was quite good.I am surgeon myself so my shoulder to me is my heart .Thank you for the great care, the nice sutures and post operative excellent care. I could have never any better experience.Thank you Sommit, and the team

Sue Barefield: I was fortunate enough to be referred to Dr Dan after having right shoulder surgery that was unsuccessfulDr Dan has given me a huge improvement in my right shoulderHe has since done a full replacement of my left shoulder with great resultsI'm so grateful that I was referred to the team at Focus Shoulder Specialists

Andrew Wilson: Surgery is serous business and Dr Dan and his staff are the epitome of what a surgeons practice should be. I couldn’t believe how well Dr Dan understood my situation. The outcome of my surgery was 100% what it should have been, no complications. Kim runs the office like a well oiled machine, never missing a beat on the paper work side and Dr Dan is also accessible threw Kim in real time so there was no hold up on any paper work or questions that I had.I am speaking from experience as my first shoulder operation was done by the Adelaide sports hospital where compared to Dr Dan I was treated like a second class citizen, my surgery had terrible complications and the reception staff needed managing from myself. After such a bad experience at the Adelaide sports hospital I wanted the best for myself and Dr Dan delivered exactly what he said he would.Thank you Dr Dan!

Alex Fennell: Very lucky to have come across Dr Dan after breaking my radius joint in multiple places. It's very easy to take it for granted but, without his knowledge and skills, I doubt I would have two working wrists today.Thank you to you and your team.

Lyn Page: I cannot recommend Dr Dan enough for Shoulder Replacement Surgery. He is a caring surgeon that has the patient’s welfare at heart. I had heard many horror stories about shoulder surgery and the recovery period although thanks to Dr Dan this proved to be unfounded. His directions for recovery including those to Physiotherapists are clearly set out in writing. Even though I am now going to be living interstate I would not hesitate to return to Dr Dan should my other shoulder need surgery. Thank you Dr Dan

Karim Goel: Dr Dan and his team offered such a warm and responsive atmosphere, in what was a really difficult time. The assuredness with which he diagnosed, explained and performed the surgery, really helped to put me and my family at ease. His after care post op was also exemplary, really going above and beyond, making sure recovery was high on his priority list. Shoulder surgery done right!

Rob: Excellent experience all round. Kim the receptionist is awesome and Dr Dan takes his time to clearly explain the whole procedure from start to finish. I left feeling totally guaranteed I was with the best surgeon that many others had recommended.

Ramsay Sallis: , a classmate of mine recommended Dr Dan, as he

He goes above and beyond both before/during and after. Would highly recommend. I am very blessed to have had Dr Dan perform my surgery. The efficient administration services provided by Kim were also brilliant.

Dr James McLean - Orthopaedic Surgeon: what do users think?

Alan Kloester: Couldn't be happier with care and attention throughout whole event. Thank you to all the team. 🖐👍🛠😁

Shane Green: I recently had a shoulder reconstruction performed by Dr James McLean. Dr McLean explained the process very thoroughly, advising exactly what would occur and what rehabilitation would look like. The operation went brilliantly well. Dr McLeans follow up service has been fantastic. Such a professional service. I can't rate Dr McLean highly enough. I thoroughly recommend his services.

Rod Balestrin: 5 stars

Bodie Milsom: , keep me informed and treat my injury. I highly recommend him and his team.

Micheal Hoskins: I had operation preformed on my shoulder and bisep by Dr McLean. I could not be happier with the service he provides. Recovery has been excellent great communication. Would highly recommended Dr McLean. Administration team is also excellent with follow up and communication.

Amanda Jensen: Dr James McClean and Staff are extremely professional I would thoroughly recommend him and his team his lovely manner made you feel very comfortable.

Lisa Johnstone: Dr McLean is a knowledgeable up-to-date surgeon. His communication is clear and specific. He always asks if you understand and have any questions.I had a friend who has had the same thumb surgery but with another surgeon, and is still recovering 18 months later. I’m 3 months post-op will be back at work next week and my thumb is coming along nicely.I highly recommend Dr McLean 🏆

Scott Edmeades: I attended Dr James Mclean’s practice, Adelaide Shoulder & Upper Limb Clinic for my torn proximal bicep tendon and rotator cuff damage. He performed a bicep tenodesis, subacromial decompression and repair to the rotator cuff. That was 10 weeks ago.I am very pleased with the progress I have made and the amount of mobility that has returned to both the bicep and shoulder. The surgery was arthroscopic and the scars at this point are minimal and barely noticeable. He took me through the procedure behind hand and explained what he had done afterwards. Dr Mclean provided a large amount of material via YouTube which I thoroughly appreciated. He provided direction to my physio for post operative care.I am very impressed with the care provided by his team the entire way through the process and would have no hesitation in recommending him and his clinic. So much so I intend to undergo another procedure later this year. He can attend to the repairs but can’t stop the aging process!

Pauline Pryzibilla: Thank you very much for being my surgeon as I’m thrilled with the result. It is lovely to have a surgeon that smiles and I could make you laugh. I must thank my GP Dr. Gibraun Brijmohan who recommended you and made that important phone call to you. Also, the staff at St. Andrew’s were outstanding. Once again, thank you so much.

Susan Dawson: My best decision I have ever made with the help of Dr. James McLean, his professional discussion and clear explanation of my risk pain issues. Thank you for your excellent service.

The Frog: I was referred to Dr McLean by another orthopaedic surgeon who wanted me to be seen by the 'best' for my shoulder problems. How true that was !Dr McLean did a complex rotator cuff repair for me and I wish I had seen him much sooner. I was quite nervous about surgery but was given lots of information and reassurance about what had to be done. The resources provided to me both before and after surgery were of a high standard and easily understood. Check his website.I found Dr McLean to be friendly and approachable and very professional. He has built a great team that support him in his work and they also match his own qualities.Every case is different, I'm sure. But in my case, pain free after 4 days and no more pills !!! I took more painkillers in the last 3 years than I had taken in the previous 70 years. I am now in the rehab phase and it's going very well. But it must be done in a measured way.The last words from Dr McLean to me were: "I'm here if you need me". I sincerely thank you.

Heather williamson: I met Dr McLean after my trip became unbearable because of pain in my shoulder. He was extremely approachable and gave me faith that he could get me out of pain. I am at week 8 post surgery and now out of direct pain in my shoulder after a reverse total shoulder replacement. He is extremely kind, his staff are very competent and i'm so glad I was here in SA when my shoulder finally gave in. Thank you so very much for all your support Dr McLean. You are a true professional.

Doug, Forbes.: I am a 69 year old grey nomad, I fell in august and went to the local rural hospital and was told that I had dislocated my AC joint, due to my age they advised that there was nothing that could be done and I would have a bump there but it would heal. Due to the discomfort when we reached Adelaide in December we looked up on the internet and found James McLean, rang his clinic and got an appointment within a few days. On seeing James we were totally surprised by his caring professionalism and his willingness to explain what had to be done. We booked a time to have my shoulder reconstructed. On the day of the operation James, his nurses, assistant surgeon and the anaesthetist explained everything about the operation again and totally made me feel at ease. After the operation the hospital care and once released with my medication we got follow up phone calls and texts to confirm that I was doing well and did I require any additional medication or want to discuss anything with James. With regular clinic checkups my shoulder feels great. I would strongly recommend James McLean and his team for any upper limb and shoulder surgery. James and your team thank you.

Smee Again: Dr McLean is a very capable and highly experienced professional with a great amount of caring and empathy for the pain that his patients are experiencing. He listens to you,and goes that extra yard to put you at ease and address any concerns you may have.He has the charm and appeal of a doctor from your dreams which extends to all his staff including his nurse, she's fantastic at removing stitches, took them out without pain before i realised she'd started and I have no qualms at giving his clinic a ten out of ten. He's a credit to his profession.

T L: They were timely and efficient. Excellent delivery of service. I felt confident that they knew what they were doing. Communication pre and post surgery was excellent.

Matthew Bannister: We are so thankful for Dr McLean and his expertise. He made a very difficult time easier to get through. Highly recommend him and his team.

cindy mcdougall: Absolutely professional..

Stephen Murray: Had no problems getting back into my training

Flinders Medical was prompt with their treatment response and provided a very thorough, friendly and supportive experience for me. They quickly ensured that my pain was controlled as a priority and made me as comfortable as possible despite the additional difficulties that hospitals are experiencing at the moment. All staff were very supportive, helpful and kind making my overall experience very positive. They are professional, thorough and go great lengths to explain/diagnose issues without rushing patients out the door due to current ED stresses . 10/10.

Binh Nguyen: The Doctor and staff are super nice.

PAULINE BENZ: Exceptional staff - Doctors, Nursing staff down to the cleaners. Food was good - parking not so. But we managed.

Zonney Bruh: The original Adelaide Hospital was built in 1840 at the eastern end of North Terrace, Adelaide, with its first building superseded in 1856 and many alterations and additions over the following 175 years. It was prefixed by the "Royal" in 1939. In 2017 it was replaced by the new hospital, built at the western end of North Terrace. The new hospital is the most expensive building[1] ever built in Australia, and the most expensive hospital[2] ever built anywhere in the world, at US$2.44 billion in construction and equipment costs. The redevelopment on the site of the old RAH is known as Lot Fourteen.

Ray Min: Saved my life.

After an initial consultation and scans, Dr Hodge performed a day surgery to remove 2x large stones that were obstructing my salivary duct. From start to finish, I had an amazing experience with the whole team at ENT surgeons, Dr Hodge, and the doctors/nurses at the Memorial Hospital for the operation. I could not speak any higher of Dr Hodge and his team.

Sam: Saw Dr Schultz. Attentive and sorted me out. his staff are FAR more helpful/accomodating and friendly than another practice I first tried - who were down right rude and asked me whether I had private health cover and when I said no told me that the first available date is in September.hmm
