Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant: what do users think?

Mrs B: and loved it, there was more than enough food despite the portions being quite small, as we expected. We tried some new foods we've not experienced and the cocktails were fabulous, the 2014 Pinot Noir was amazing. The spacing of generously sized tables was perfect for a quiet cozy dinner.

Eddie Uchenna: I recently dined at Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant and found the experience to be good, though not outstanding. The ambiance is certainly a highlight, with stunning views of the vineyard. The food was well-prepared, but some dishes fell short in terms of flavor. The wine pairings, however, were spot-on, elevating the overall meal. Service was attentive but could have been more personable. It’s a place that caters well to special occasions, but it didn’t quite leave a lasting impression on me.

Brenna Landis: The tasting menu was nothing short of extraordinary, with each delicious course presented beautifully. The chefs brilliantly showcased the best of South Australian produce, with innovative and comforting dishes. Every bite was amazing, and the Penfolds wines perfectly matched, enhancing the flavours of each dish. A special mention is the scallop and fennel course! The service was impeccable, with the staff friendly and attentive to our needs without being intrusive. Their passion for food and wine was evident in how they described each course, adding to our enjoyment of the evening. We felt truly cared for, and the relaxed yet refined atmosphere made it easy to enjoy each other’s company. It’s the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening with friends. Highly recommended!

Nicholas Van Der Sluys: I make a habit of dining at Magill Estate Restaurant whenever I am in Adelaide - it really is quite exceptional. That said, and maybe it is a case of too much of a good thing having dined four times in 18 months, the menu, stellar as it is, doesn't change often enough, even with seasonality of produce.Service from the maître d' and sommelier can be frosty, though the English waitress that served our table on two of my four recent visits is outstanding. The wine pairings are rigid and expensive. I find it preferable to order a few glasses plus a bottle of a lovely back vintage than to commit to the pairing.

Kayne (Kano La La): In Adelaide's verdant foothills, where nature's brush does paint,Lies Penfolds Magill Estate, a culinary saint.Where vineyards whisper secrets to the skies so blue,And city views blend perfectly with grapes' rich hue. Here, where modern lines meet the earth's ancient grace,Stands a restaurant, a sanctuary, a richly fabled place.Caviar and kingfish, each dish a crafted art,Beef so tender, sashimi that speaks to the heart.Tantalizing truffles and sourdough that's divine,Four types of butter, a gourmet's delight to dine.Cabernet and Shiraz, each sip a treasured note,Champagne bubbles dancing, Riesling in a golden coat.A Negroni’s bitter kiss, snacks that tease and please,Desserts that whisper sweetly, bringing you to your knees.Parmesan and Camembert, cheeses of the finest breed,Completing meals with elegance, fulfilling every need.Still water, soda, sparkling, spring—waters pure and true,Complementing fancy plates, a feast for eyes anew.In this epicurean haven, where service stands supreme,Magill Estate transforms meals into a symphonic dream.Modern architecture frames the view, leaf and vine entwine,Seasonal cuisine awaits, with wines impeccably fine.Daily lunch with leafy views, where time itself does pause,Creating moments memorable, winning sheer applause. For here in Penfolds' spiritual home, where history meets taste,Each visit is a melody, without a single waste.Come, savour the experience, where earth and sky conflate,At Penfolds Magill Estate, where simple joys await.

Allen Tang: My wife and I patron this amazing restaurant last Friday to celebrate our joint birthdays together. The service was impeccable from the moment we were greeted at the door till we left. Even though there was a main waiter assigned to our table, we loved the idea of having the different cooks bringing out our food and explaining the food as they served us. We had their Signature Tasting menu and as I was not a red meat eater, the replacement of the red meat with another was great and I was happy with them. We had a bottle of their GSM wine too. The ambience was great and our table look out to the night skyline of Adelaide. Kudos to the Chinese male server who took care of us through out the night. Will definitely come again to try their rest of their menu.Dietary restrictions: Great substitutions!Parking: Plenty of parking just outside the main restaurant.

Shiki Japanese Restaurant: what do users think?

Kristen S: The setting of this restaurant is fantastic and the service we received from both the waiter and teppanyaki chef were great. Food was good, but not worth the price point in my opinion. We spent $380 here, being the most expensive teppanyaki we have had, however the food quality was not as good as we have experienced elsewhere. Delicious nonetheless, but you can get better teppanyaki elsewhere for a much more reasonable price.

Allan Smith: After going to a game of footy in Adelaide and watching my team win, there’s nothing like celebrating at a nice restaurant like the Shiki, Adelaide's Award Winning Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant located at the InterContinental Adelaide. This is where you can immerse yourself in authentic Japanese teppanyaki in the heart of Adelaide. Headed by Shiki Chef de Cuisine, Kenny Trinh, where the team have created a delicious menu of truly succulent sushi, sashimi… and the list goes on and on. They are without a doubt, the ‘best of the best’, and proud to showcase South Australian produce. The menu is extensive like the wine list, however I strongly suggest you try the sushi and sashimi selection, prawn tempura, wagyu beef, bok choy and snow peas, vegetable fried rice and miso soup, and for dessert the mango mousse with coconut jelly. All complimented with the traditional Japanese wine, sake. What more can I say - everything was tasty, juicy and cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly and professional, and everything else was cosy and romantic. Very Highly Recommended 👏👍😊

Tim Wright: Can’t recommend this restaurant enough, I absolutely love every aspect of itRecommended dishes Prawn Tempura, Three Dipping Sauces, Sashimi Plate …

I will highly recommend George's to my family and friends. Well done to George and the Team !! Regards Mandy.

Oliver Townsend: Me and my husband Antonio were sittiing peacefully until what we thought was a server came up to us and asked what we wanted my husband ordered a salad and I ordered a pasta, instead of writing down our order rthe little guy opted to tell me what the capital of Peru was he then asked if we wanted to know another fun fact. I said no but he proceeded to tell me what the 79th digit of pi was. Not impressed. Food was good though 5 stars

Jessica Ferris: , the scallops on special and the prawn skewers which were all delicious. But the star of the meal was the lamb shoulder, we haven’t stopped talking about it- best lamb I have ever eaten and paired with the crispy roast potatoes was chefs kiss. Highly recommend. Thank you Georges team

David Jeffery: Amazing food. Amazing service. Matthew Yong-O'Gorman: Hit and miss with dishes. Wouldn't rush back when in Adelaide.

Dyan Higgs: The restaurant is beautiful inside just need a bit more lighting to read menus. The mains were delicious I do recommend the wagyu rump and adobo chicken. The salad was dressed well too. We had the buffalo mozzarella as a starter it said chilli on the menu we couldn’t taste any it needed a little more zing. Overall we had a great time and would visit again

Chen Angel: The food, service and environment are very comfortable. The appetizers are delicious, kingfish yummy. The pasta is very special and has a very chewy texture. In addition, the staple beef is super delicious, and the fried onions go well with it.The tiramisu for dessert was also good but very sweet.Meal time is 6-9:30, very full. For a meal of 7 people, I had the impression that two bottles of white wine were opened, and the cost was about 750 Australian dollars.

Ben Anastassi: My wife and I wanted a date lunch Press* did not disappoint. We had a bottle of French wine which was described perfectly for us by the waiter and we were seated in a very nice spot where we could enjoy our time and chat together. We shared all of our dishes and the staff were so attentive and always cleared the dishes and wiped the table between serves. All flavors were great but the stand out dish was the kangaroo tartare the flavour was unexpected and amazing. Thankyou to the staff that looked after us and I apologise for not getting names to put in this review.

Coreen Taylor: We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It had been a really tough previous 24 hours and our waitress Lulu was exceptional. She made our experience lovely, knowledgeable of the menu too. We loved the fresh oysters, our small plates of tuna and pork skewer, amazing kangaroo tartare and mains barramundi and the abodoe chicken with a side of Brussel sprouts was fresh and tantalising. A quiet celebration to celebrate love and life. Thankyou Press Food and Wine and Lulu!

Sam Williamson: Amazing food - being vegetarian I was not sure what id be able to choose from on a set menu - but there was Soooo much great food! Even vegan options and other dietary needs are welcomed.Great atmosphere and the staff know what’s up when it comes to service and their customers; and knowing the menu.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vego food on the menu.Dietary restrictions: All dietary needs are catered for - they’ll be sure to find something for you

Foodie Files Melbourne: We visited Africola for dinner which is probably the coolest restaurant in South Australia and really reminded me of some of the fun eateries in London, turns out the owner is from the UK and has settled in Adelaide, lucky for us he’s brought an immaculately styled venue with a killer atmosphere.Food wise my favourite was the peri peri chicken and the yummy carrot side. The chicken skin sandwich is kind of a signature but I wasn’t a huge fan. If you can book into the open kitchen seating that would be a really cool experience also.

Fionn MacRedmond: I mean sometimes, very rarely, you go somewhere and everything delivers. This was one of those places. Delicious. Delicious. Delicious. Truly, it was elevated. And interesting...not just boring generic blah blah food other places churn out. This was menu was creative and with intention. We're from Melbourne so sadly won't be back anytime soon, however will be singing the praises for some time to come. Bravo..Brava!

Carolyn Lee: Innovative and flavourful food with superb service and great atmosphere. If you want to try something a bit different in Adelaide, this is the place to go. All the food was incredibly tasty and well thought out with interesting flavours but still using familiar ingredients. The service was SO good here, our waiter was attentive and enthusiastic without ever being pushy. Loved the vibe of the whole restaurant.Would recommend the Peri Peri Chicken, Chicken Liver Pate and Crispy Chicken Tea Sandwich.

Aaron Henderson: My wife and I just rolled back to our Air BnB after an exceptional experience at Africola. The food ,service and the atmosphere was on point. It was a first time trying a fusion of African food and I can happily say we'll be back again.Well done team Africola 👏

Rosey Connolly: Big thank you to the team at africola ..wow wow wow.. amazing service ..amazing culinary delights.. we sat outside ..where warm enough.. but mostly the lovely young lady that served us on the night made the outing even more special..big thank you ❤️ the wine selection we had to choose from..perfect .. loved the B Chardonnay and even got to met the wine maker 😄. We thoroughly enjoyed the even .. 10 out of ten ..❤️💯

Steve Tempest: I really enjoyed my dining experience here, and will be remembered. A lot of new food experiences with each course and all were extremely tasty.I'd definitely recommend this place for people who like to try new things they wouldn't get elsewhere. Everyone left feeling very full which is often hard with a degistation style sitting.

Maria Kl: Food was exceptional and lovely experience.

Mel: Totally lived up to the reviews. Amazing unique and interesting food, that's great value. They only do feed me menus and there was SO MUCH food! They happily put it in takeaway containers for us. Drinks were excellent. The vibe and playlist was spot on. Must go if you're in Adelaide! Remember to book in advance. Also, they aren't open all day, even though it says they are on the website. Only open from 6 pm for dinner.

Chris Braeker: What a revelation this place is! The food was absolutely spectacular and full of surprises. We loved every moment of it. Our group of three was sat at the bar which was great to appreciate Gios handy work. He was the best host and made us feel comfortable. We will certainly be back!

Restaurant Botanic: what do users think?

Ten Ton: The chefs here are a combination of both artists and scientists. This is not food served here, but beautiful and perfectly balanced taste stimulants whose flavours both confound and delight in their complexity. The best of which come before the maron, with the exception of the emu which is prepared in a way that patriotically rival the world’s best meats. Thanks to the excellent service, this is an exceptionally sophisticated experience and should be sampled by anyone who has the means. This experience would be best in the summer where twilight would allow visualisation of the garden surrounds and the preference for more sophisticated garden lighting, especially in the winter, is this restaurant’s only criticism. Bravo to the entire team.

Tim Quinney: A very unique experience. As the name suggests Botanics is definitely the theme of this restaurant and it's menu. Which personally I found to be at times challenging.Over the course of a few hours which never felt rushed, a very wide range of dishes were fed to us. There were none that were too difficult to palette but some that were a bit more floral than I perhaps was used to.The larger protein portions were all very tasty but I would say on the smaller end of fine dining tasting experiences.Overall I walked out feeling a little confused. It was certainly interesting but maybe not what I would say is delicious. Well worth the experience however.

AP MD: ADDIT: I have come back to Restaurant Botanic since their new head chef has started and am blown away by this places evolutionEverything that they excelled in before they have somehow taken to the next level. The delicacy and intricacy of each course is only overcome by the passion and complexity of the flavours. Everything this place does - whether it's food, service or environment - they do it to it's maximum potentialRestaurant Botanic has done amazing things for the South Australian food industry and I see no element of them slowing down. This time next year I believe they'll be spoken about on a global scaleIncredible experience and beautiful evolution - a must try for everyoneAdelaide's new restaurant has definitely made its mark. I was beyond blown away by the quality of the food, the devotion of the staff to making every little detail perfect, and the uniqueness of their approach. The food is not only amazing, but the entire experience is a journey. I see big things for this restaurant in the future, they should be very proud of themselves

James Alexandre: If you wish to experience the best Australia has to offer, and what we are all about, you must bring yourself to this restaurant and participate in the momentous journey Chef Jamie and Webster put in front of you. Their culinary artistry will evoke senses unknown to you prior to this experience. Every dish is a testament to their passion and mastery, transforming each bite into an unforgettable memory.

Frankie Lam: Cutting edge technique and creativity in using Australian local produces. Have both looks and favours. Very enjoyable 4 hours, do not think any other restaurant produce anything that can match this.Downside is service at the beginning, seems the bar and kitchen do not commute well and make it feel bit rush.Anyway, this is last week run by Justin James, will see if the new chef can maintain and improve the reputation.

Donna Stevens: First class attention to service for the customer, great welcome and attention through out the night.Highlight was the attendence to the table was from the pattisiere chef, that constructed the desserts. So nice to see someone from the kitchen at this price point.

Robert Scarborough: Mushrooms fudge dust with mushroom powder topped caviar. What who thinks of these things. The brilliant chef that’s. Who. I so glad they did.* A light fluffy mushroom delight with sea taste of delicious caviar. Brilliant way to finish. This was a night to remember a night of some of the best food I’ve ever tasted.I didn’t get to taste some of Botanic’s & Justin’s dishes. Though I did last week at Tasting Australia. What I did taste was the brilliance of Daniel & Tony from Sixpenny. A brilliance I am glad to have seen and eaten. I might just go to Sydney to do it again.WHAT A SENSATIONAL NIGHT.So after I walk for 30 minutes to a favourite bar. Taste 1/2 glass red. Nope body is so full of food I can’t even drink. Go figure. But true

Bob Elliott: Restaurant botanic should be rated as AAAAA. It really is a once in a life time experience. The friendly greeting by Tom and Ruby. Removing our coats and umbrella. The detailed explanation of the experience we were to have was first class. Each dish was beautifully presented with local shrubs, leaves, rocks from the botanic gardens being used to high light wash dish.If Tom or Ruby were not giving a detailed explanation one of the many excellent chefs were out. There were 29 diners on the night and the whole experience took 4 hours.I am already saving the pennies to go again.Well done

J H (justher): . I really want to try that duck but couldnt..If I do come again, I’ll do lunch just to get some time to walk around the garden as well.

Neha Wali: Have visited this place while I was staying at Intercontinental. The breakfast is included in the package. Their breakfast menu is pretty vast. You can choose one of the main dishes from the menu. The fruits, tarts, yoghurt, crossiant, coffee and juice are included with it.Ordered Intercontinental breakfast which is basically Omelette on sourdough with bacon, sausages, tomato, baked beans and hash brown. It was delish. Loved the quality as well as quantity. Tummy fully satisfied! Also ordered, omelette your way which was scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and chices, served with hash browns and roasted tomatoes.Their latte and cappuccino was fantastic, loved their coffee blend! Parlamento: what do users think?

David Parlavecchio: was overcooked, but you could feel it was a good cut and of good quality. My partner's gnocchi were also good.It is located in the center of Adelaide so it is easy to reach by public transport, but difficult to find parking nearby.Vegetarian options: There are various choices for vegetarian dishes, pasta, salads and various vegetables.

Mark Roman: . The dish is described as being between 400-500g and cooked to my liking. I wish I'd taken a photo now because the meat was definitely on the lower end of the weight scale, and I reckon it'd be hard pressed to even be 400g. In addition it was overcooked, but that wasn't a major drama. Not as tender as it's been in the past, but tasty. Parlamento is always busy, so it's not like they were dealing with an extra large group that strained the kitchen resources, but I was a tad disappointed in the meat dish, especially, given it's now $52 which had a decent increase from the previous visit. I could have bought this same steak from a local pub for $35, so at $52, it should be without question. The lamb loin chops and pasta dished served to my companions were to the usual standard.Wheelchair accessibility: Given the smallish nature of the restaurant, arriving in a wheelchair without advance notice is not advised. In addition, there's not a lot of room between tables.

MK: We dined at Parlamento twice while in Adelaide last May. The first time our experience was so special and delicious we went back the next evening. Food and service were excellent. Rafael and the team made us feel like we were VIPs. Then on the morning we were flying home we were looking for a good coffee and we’re so happy to see Parlamento was open just for a coffee! Again 5-star service and best coffee! Grazie Rafael and team, when next in Adelaide we will be back.

Silvano Porcaro: Visited Adelaide this week after a long absence. I had been to Parlamento on previous visits and was always impressed with the food and service. I went for dinner on Tuesday evening and ordered the spaghetti marinara and a mixed spirit to drink. The order was promptly placed and the drink quickly arrived with a basket containing bread and butter. The butter was at room temperature so easily spreadable.I had some friendly discussion with Ralph, one of the owners of Parlamento whilst waiting for the marinara. It didn't take long for it to arrive and the aroma was simply mouth watering! The dish was spectacular - spaghetti perfectly 'al dente' and an abundance of fresh mixed seafood. A beautiful rose coloued sauce brought it all together. It was really good!If you live in Adelaide or are just visiting, I can definitely recommend Parlamento as a good home style italian restaurant. Thanks Ralph and the team. I look forward to my next visit.

Elvira Rosmini: was next to none. We truly enjoyed dining in your restaurant Ralph; you made a simple catch up amongst friends a memorable and truly enjoyable experience. Never retire mate… we love your food, generosity, humour and above all your authentic Italian cuisine.Cheers,Carmine

Della Thilthorpe: When deciding on a venue to take our family, the Lenzerheide came highly recommended by our son and his wife and friends. The occasion, celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary with our adult children and their spouses - a table of 8.The ambience of the restaurant and round table seating were the perfect setting for our evening. There was plenty of room between tables and we were able to talk easilyThe food was delicious; the staff bubbly and service spot on.We had a fabulous night, our first visit, but it won’t be our last.

Donna Stevens: The atmosphere dates the establishment. The Staff, are top notch, keen, knowlegable, and on point with menu and wines. The night we attended, head Chef was away. This may explain that food was not tasted for seasoning, before being sent.Would I go again at this price point?Yes, I would if Chef in attendance, the staff are extremely talented, and knowlegeable, in this instance, let down by the kitchen.

Franco Minoski: Went there yesterday for my uncles 100 birthday. In a private vaulted room with a beautiful view out the windows. The food and service from the 3 gentlemen looking after us was exceptional. The food was 5 star from entrees to dessert. Could not fault this restaurant. Very happy to recommend and next time in Adelaide will definitely be going back. Our group had a great day and my uncle had a beautiful day.

Hiba Hayder Ismael Maghazji: Service and atmosphere were excellent. Comfortable and quiet so you can have a good chat with your companions. The food was good but not excellent. It’s a fine dining restaurant but I had better elsewhere. The barramundi was delicious but the white sauce was a bit too heavy so I couldn’t finish it. I had the prawns as a starter. The pastry wasn’t fluffy and crunchy as I imagined it. My husband had the venison and the sauce was a bit too sweet. The vegetables tasted well but a bit greasy. So the food I’d say was average for a fine dining in Adelaide. But overall it was a pleasant experience. Thank you

Definitely recommend the red! 💕staffs are very nice and friendly!

Rob Gibson: Attentive service and tasty original Thai dishes

Aman Mattoo: This place has been long awaiting on our list of places we wanted to try. The quality of food is very high, ingredients and products used are of fantastic quality. My favourite dish was the beef cheek, perfectly braised and melting in the mouth and very gelatinous the way I expected it to be. The salt and pepper squid had a nice sweet and sour dressing drizzle over it although i could enjoy the squids a bit more crispy with the dressing only in the salad and not so much on the squids. The other dishes sounded very appealing and would love the come back to try them out too. Ill get straight to the highlight of the evening and that was Carmen the wait staff. She explained all the specials to us, gave us enough time to settle in and made some great recommendations and came and checked on us every now and then to make sure we had everything we needed. She served us with a smile through the evening.Great place and would definitely go back.

The brussells sprouts as a side were divine! The restaurant was empty the night we were there so the vibe was unfortunately a bit lacking.BUT we could not fault the staff, including their wine matching recommendation, and so we decided it was a lovely intimate dinner in this beautifully presented space.

Adam S: Servicenwas great - very attentive waiter. The atmosphere is also great - the period and themed decor is really well done. The food - one of the best food experiences I've had. Went with the five course chef's choice with paired wines. All amazing. In particular, the lamb was sensational. Was juat passing through Adelaide, but now i have a reason to return - just for the lamb!

Mark Swan: We started with a drink in the upstairs bar. The maître d’ in charge of the bar was welcoming and friendly. Good selection of wines by the glass.Dinner in the cellar was a knock-out. We opted for the four-course tasting menu, and each course was excellent. Well thought-out flavour combinations and a careful pairing of accompanying wines. Service was on point - our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. The price for pre-dinner drinks, plus the tasting menu and wine flight, was much less than we would have anticipated. Excellent value for money.Highly recommended.

Gemma Frances Wellbeing: Beautifully appointed bar. Cosy and interesting decor.Staff were attentive and friendly.I had the tasting menu which had highlights like the kingfish terrine. The cute butter and crusty bread was also a highlight. All other dishes were ok but not ones I would return to in a hurry.

Jeff Baohm: if you are looking for an art deco style that is hard to find this is your go to venueNoteworthy details: art deco is alive and well

Paul Kitching: My wife and I decided to have a night away in our own town and this was perfect - brilliant to be so well located to everything. Easy check in and great service. Lovely room too with the loft set up - loved the high ceilings and no issue having the bed upstairs. Massive comfy bed... Lovely team members at every turn. Drinks at bar not cheap but worth it... then a nice easy stroll to dinner nearby... and loved the late 11am check out + fact we could leave our bag there for the day whilst we spent the day in town... so overall yes this was brilliant and would book again. ta!

Karl Perigo: from every department was faultless.Walkability: The free tram around the CBD is located across the road.

Christine Laverty: I love the vibe of this hotel. It’s stylish with art nouveaux design that oozes comfortable luxury unlike many boring hotels that I find lack personality. The rooms are lovely, beds super comfy, showers almost too good-I didn't want to get out! Then there's the bath- it's deep and has a waterfall tap, absolute bliss to have a relaxing soak in after a stressful day. Another thing I really love is their vanity. It's actually a decent length, you can happily display all of your various make-up, hair & toiletry items easily. This is incredibly rare and you're often lucky to have enough room for a toothbrush and have to keep moving toilet bags from the floor..we'll, not here😁 Plus the bathroom light has a dimmer and one of those reversible make-up magnifier mirrors. The chaise lounge finishes off the room nicely with the only potential thing I can think of that wasn't perfect was that I walked into the overhanging light a couple of times but really, it wasn't a problem and I loved the light fixture and table set-up.The staff were all lovely and really helpful and the Manager was great to talk to. Even the cleaning staff happily greeted me whenever I saw them.Make sure you try a complimentary chocolate orange shot while you're there. You help yourself and it's just the Reception desk. It's so rich & delicious and again, another lovely extra touch. The cocktails from the bat were also great and although I didn't get the chance to dine in their restaurant-Luna, it has a great local reputation for breakfast as well as lunch/dinner.I loved everything about this hotel.😁Safety: I went online to an Adelaide group and asked about safety walking around at 7am. All feedback was it was safe and I did it every day and felt completely safe.

Toni Alroy: Stayed for three nights to attend a conference. I’m a lover of all things Art Nouveau so found the decor perfect. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful, keen to share local knowledge and give advice to a first time Adelaide visitor. I was upgraded to a suite which was very unexpected. Bed was dreamy and bathroom was luxe. Hope I get to visit again. Thankyou for a wonderful stay!

Helen Schunker: Enjoyed a High Tea Experience with 5 other people today, 10th August, 2024. Would highly recommend this High Tea. Delicious selection of savoury and sweet. Special cocktail mixed for us on arrival. A mocktail available as well. Excellent service by the team member at Luma Restaurant.Food & drinks: 5 star High Tea.

Golden Boy: what do users think?

Me Pips: We’ve been to Golden Boy so many times. Yeah, it’s that good. Tonight we had great table service - thank you Isaiah! And it got me thinking what’s so great about Golden Boy. I mean apart from the spectacular food. It’s the customer service. The wait staff know the menu and are passionate about the dishes, relaying the details with wide eyed enthusiasm. A delight as always.

Sara: My daughter took me to Golden Boy on a Monday at lunchtime. We were celebrating my birthday as well as her own, which both occur in August. We chose to order the tuk tuk menu rather than having a full a la carte. We mentioned what type of tastes we had when it came to Asian fusion/Thai food and let the staff serve us a variety of dishes. The portions were extremely generous and absolutely delicious. The staff waited until we had consumed one dish before bringing on another. We can highly recommend the betel leaf with ocean trout if you enjoy something spicy - such delicate little servings, and the soft shell crab dish was a particular winner. Diners have both spoon and fork as cutlery or can use chopsticks if preferred.Coconut ice cream was an ideal dessert.Chilled wine accompanied our meal. The young man who waited on us was a delight.I cannot speak highly enough of Golden Boy and am at a loss to understand the couple of negative reviews I have read. The positives certainly outweigh that minority anyway.

Ruth Carpenter: Golden Boy was recommended to us, and we're so glad we went there. It was the best meal of our 3 weeks holiday in Australia! The service was excellent. Georgie, who served us, was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. She gave good advice too.The food itself was to die for. We chose the tasting menu, and it was hard to choose a favourite from all the tasty, interesting dishes. We're planning to come back to Adelaide and will be booking Golden Boy for sure, maybe every night!

Keith Seanard: We have gotten into the habit of doing the chefs choice menus and this was one of the best. The waitress asked about preferences and I had a beef main and everyone else got to share seafood and chicken. Don’t be fooled by the small serving sizes, I left feeling very full. The food was fresh and seasoned perfectly. Since it was my wife’s birthday, they brought her a funny desert. My only complaint was the loud music more suited to a bar than dining.Vegetarian options: My girls were quite happyParking: I suggest you Uber to and from as there is no easy parking

Mitchell Hadjinicolaou: My partner and I had dinner at the restaurant on Saturday night celebrating my birthday. I have been to Golden 4 times and it never disappoints. We were served by Georgia who informed us she had only been working there for a month but her service was exceptional and she said she was really enjoying working there. The food was amazing and a great variety. The 8 courses we shared was more than enough food and we were never waiting too long between dishes. Can’t recommend a better place and we are looking forward to our next time there.

LADAMSPIANO: . They all contain very flavourful food, and we even had left overs which were amazing for lunch the next day.The atmosphere in there was amazing, nice subtle music, and everyone simply delighting in the food they were being served. All the staff were extremely polite and professional! If I could I would give this place a 6/5 stars it was that amazing. Thanks for leaving a lasting impression 😁Dietary restrictions: They can make anything to suit the dietary needs. Very versatile menu with interchangeable ingredients. My girlfriend has celiac so they made sure everything was gluten free!

Soi38 Regional Thai Restaurant: what do users think?

Things I Find “Robby Robstar” Interesting: I'm always scared when we order the 'just feed us' menu. The first dish that came out was tiny, but the flavour was huge. The waitor called it the snack. As each meal came out, we had a decent amount of rice or roti to go with it.Each bite was better than the last. Each dish out shining the last. I didn't realise that Thai food tasted and looked this great.Of course, I had to match my food with a Thai beer and I was transported to Thailands most modern 5 star restaurant. The waitor was so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure everything was good and kept up with the drinks.By the time we finished our food, we entered a food comma. We tried to walk it off by walking to the cinema, paying for our tickets, and falling asleep. Haha.I highly recommend this place.

Alex Vasek (Alex's Ace's): 🌟 ** Dining Experience at @soi.38 Adelaide ** 🌟If you're a fan of authentic Thai cuisine or simply in search of a remarkable dining experience in Adelaide, look no further than Soi 38. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were captivated by the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The decor perfectly blends traditional Thai elements with contemporary design, creating a cozy and inviting space that immediately sets the tone for an exceptional meal. Our culinary journey began with a selection of appetizers that were both visually stunning and incredibly delicious. Each bite was tender, juicy, crispy, and bursting with flavour, offering a tantalizing glimpse of the culinary delights that lay ahead. For our main course, we indulged in a variety of dishes that showcased the rich, aromatic flavours of Thai cuisine. Crispy pork belly with vegetables was a highlight, featuring perfectly cooked pork belly and chilli spices with crispy vegetables is a harmonious balance of sweet, sour, and savory notes. Equally impressive was the chicken massaman, a symphony of flavours with tender chicken pieces, vibrant vegetables, and a creamy, coconut-infused sauce that provided just the right amount of heat. The dessert was no less impressive. We couldn't resist trying the black Sticky Rice, a classic Thai treat that provided the perfect end to our meal. The sweet, ripe lagoon paired with the creamy coconut sticky rice was a match made in heaven, leaving us thoroughly satisfied and eager to return. What truly set our dining experience apart was the impeccable service. The staff at Soi 38 were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. They took the time to explain each dish, offered recommendations, and ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect.Whether you're a longtime fan of Thai cuisine or looking to explore new culinary horizons, Soi 38 promises an unforgettable dining experience that will leave you coming back for more. Highly recommend! 🍜🍛

Andrew Ng: The rump steak was pretty ordinary, barely above the pub grubs I usually pay less than half for. It was full of sinews and ligaments and dry, but the sauces were much better. So I still give it a 3 stars. The service was above average but the attitude was underwhelming esp when my friend told the staff of his opinion on the goat curry which has the same problem as the rump steak. She didn't respond well to the constructive criticism.I know the hospitality business is going through a rough patch now and I don't want to disparage any outlet into folding up.I will still give Soi 38 another go, afterall I can't rule out that tonight is one of those off occasions for the chef. I will drop by again next week or after.

Dwayne Alexander: Highly recommend, one of the best feeds I've had juice meet served at your table with great service ..thankyou for our fathers day experience...will definitely coming backParking: Easy access right across from the restaurant

Todd Crafter: Third time eating here today. Every time I have had fantastic food and a lot of it, amazing staff and a great atmosphere. I love the concept and I will be back again.Dietary restrictions: I am coeliac. Most dishes are gluten free and they provide an easy to use guide listing every dish and its associated dietary information, so knowing what to eat and what to avoid is fairly simple if you have restrictions.

Scott Godfrey: What to say about this place apart from wow. Went here for my 40th birthday I had heard so much about this place and it did not disapoint. We had a drink in the bar part first. Such a lovely aear to sit and wait for your booking time. The drink prices are realy good compared to every where else.We sat at the table the lovely lady told use how it works love the green light red light thing. I said to my wife We won't need the red light there's no such thing as to much food. I was wrong We uesd the red light a fare bit. I'm calling it a food party the sides came out and all of them are so tasty and would be the best potato salad I have ever had. Then the meat started to come out and wow I love bbq meat and this is next level so so so much meat then after the first round you. CAn just keep asking for what you liked. We haven't seen the price before hand and once they said that side was unlimited and all the meat we thought easy over $100 each looked on line and was shocked how cheap it was. 10 out of 10 for everything at this place food, service, vibe, all staff are professional and friendly shout out to Leo who served us the most.
