Capri Theatre: what do users think?

Ross Dawkins: A grand old theatre with the smells reminiscent of the glory days. The volunteers do an excellent job of keeping this theatre running.Being able to buy Haighes Chocolates or a Golden North chocolate topped icecream lovingly made by the volunteers just adds to the pleasure and ambience. The Wurlitzer organ rising from the stage and played for 15 minutes prior to the films is just magical - a 'real' blast from the past!

Chris Pitcher: My Favourite Cinema for 7 Decades Loved the place since a Child

Gilly Gilmiester: Wonderful place. The architecture is beautiful and the interior transports you back in time.Everyone involved should be very proud.

Dennis Gullan: Great slice of nostalgia, the organ is stupendous.....a must see on anyone's Adelaide visit.

Corcoran Street: First time to this theatre. Lovely old world charm and operated by volunteers. It's definitely worth visiting if only to see the theatre.

Richard Jacobs: An amazing genuine theatre organ and 1930s but top quality films in a 1930s theatre

Susan B.: This beautiful heritage Capri theater takes you back in time as soon as you step inside. From watching awesome movies to viewing the grand Wurlitzer organ being played it’s certainly highly memorable!

PK Saxena: Always a pleasure. Especially the organ before the show.

Shari Bartlett: Lovely theatre. Ample seating. Great for candlelight venue.

Deb W: Great show, worth going to see🌟

Michelle Yang: A big fan of candle light concerts. Lovely music and talented musicians. Fantastic atmosphere quality time spent with my family

Deniz Batuk: A truly unique place for community to come together to celebrate the classics, blockbuster, art, cult, and world movies.

Graeme Wilson: Very low cost community theatre. They show odd- ball old movies. One was a silent film with very loud music. Currently, East German stuff made under severe censorship. Very thought provoking and a relief from the American rubbish we are constantly fed.

Janet’s Journey: Classic Cinema, old school movies and the nostalgic of arts! Love the vibe around it.The bar staff are always lovely.Recently attended to see a comedy show as part of the fringe.

Richard Densley: Very interesting non mainstream movies, great price, especially if you join as a member...my movies cost me about $3 each. Also get a cup of coffee and biscuits.

Debbie Bloomfield: I'm visiting Adelaide from Far North Queensland. I'm so happy I chanced upon this little gem 🌈What a great experience tonight !!For just $16A screening of 4 short films by Australian film makers, several of whom were available after their film to share how their ideas came about, to discuss technical aspects of the creative process and to answer questions from the audience. It was fabulousInformativeand a lot of fun !!I'm not a film maker nor an animator but I really enjoyed the insightsEither buy tickets for a screeningOr subscribe $25 / month to keep Mercury Cinema prosperous & enjoy special events.. like a special screening coming upA special screening of an episode from The Witcher series with special guest from the creative team to address the guests.Take a friend along to Mercury Cinema !!I can highly recommend it.. and with Adelaide's support it will only be better & stronger & attract more diverse films for us all 💜💙I would like to have had more time to see a couple of the other films on offer over the next few weeks

Maria Reinoso: It is a lovely Cinema, the stuff is really nice,.Showing really good movies

Ian Huntley: A great film. The cinema has a very healthy culture.

David Jobling: ashes, a makeover and rethink of the whole place has transformed it into a truly excellent centre of excellence.

Robert Manning: AGM Mercury tonight

Michelle E. Brooks: Excellent small arthouse and specialities screening in a comfortable cinema. Offers other films, usually during the day. Tragically, it is not certain to survive. Please go, and help it to stay open. Adelaide needs it!

Mr. Pramod: What's a bigger mystery box than a movie theater? You go to the theater, you're just so excited to see anything - the moment the lights go down is often the best part.

BIKASH KHATIWADA: Not bad

Paula Warburton: A great night put on for free for the over 60s by South Aussie with CosiNice pace

Rob: One of the last “antique theatres left in SA, a true treasure to be at, we were there for a movie and original seats were comfortable enough

Quynh Nguyen: Helpful and friendly staff, clean and affordable. Will definitely come back to support the local business.

Inclusive Kids Adelaide: Our family recently attended our second relaxed movie session at the Regal Theatre during the school holidays, and it has been a game changer for us. These sessions are specifically designed as relaxed sessions and are perfect for children with sensory processing difficulties and those who need a quieter space, making it a great fit for our son.The environment at these relaxed sessions is incredibly accommodating, allowing our son to be himself without the usual restrictions of a packed cinema. We didn't have to worry about staying in our seats or being perfectly quiet throughout the movie, which significantly reduced our stress as parents. It's wonderful to have a family activity where we can all relax and enjoy the movie together without being on guard the entire time.We deeply appreciate the Regal Theatre for putting on these special events for families with support needs. It makes participating in the community so much easier and more enjoyable. Thank you for creating such an inclusive and supportive environment!

Beverly Carroll: Beautiful movie theatreWonderful staff

Jazmin Ward: Beautiful old art deco architecture inside and out. These old beaties must be preserved in all their glory.

Cheryl Monkhouse: Love the theatre but the seats were a bit uncomfortable... I'm not tall but I'm not short and my feet didn't touch the ground so my legs kept falling asleep. But love the theatre.

Helen Hunter: Great little theatre.

Steve Petito: What a gem! It is a delight to have this wonderful cinema within easy reach. Excellent amenities, nice staff and a great screen without noisy customers!

Meredith Waters: A lovely old cinema and good movies.

Nans Stolk: Great cinema, lovely people, love the big seats!

Lars: Great ice cream. Spooky loo's with what looked like a resident lurking around.Romulus didn't disappoint.

Laksith Sirisena: Eximax Screen was good. The lobby and common spaces can be more cozy and cleany. The staff is doing their best to maintain.

Bruce Purdie: Watched The Bikeriders movie in Cinema 11 and was impressed with how huge the sound and vision was.The ticket self check in was efficient.I was very tempted to have popcorn 🍿 from the sweet aroma drifting through the foyer.

Oz “Q_mutineer” GQ: Regulars have a feeling of community at this city cinema which houses the ex-Imax screen. Great events are on offer like opening nights, Monday Doubles, Big Screen showings of classic cinema, International film festivals, Bonfire Horror Club, stage-to-screen and much more. Enjoy a themed cocktail or snack on offerings like a cheese platter, nachos or toasties. Easy parking at the Frome Upark and located right next to Howling Owl, The Elephant and Rundle Street/Eastend if doing the whole 'movie and a meal' thing.

Bridie O'Reilly: Small cost cinema. Quiet.

Gavin (sacah): Good local cinema, easy to join the club and get discounted tickets, seats were comfy and cinema wasn't too big, nor sound overpowering.

Nina Spaan: Comfortable cinema. Food prices are too high though and not much variety.

Another night we went to watch batman I think. Then another time there was a 🤜Jean claud van damme 🤛movie👊 Rambo, Terminator, clear and present danger. Watched so many movies there. Some of the memories that stick with kids as they grow into Adults😍Sadly we put our good things in the bin in South Australia.A South Australian icon/landmark just bulldozed for 3-5 storey or taller apartment developers to line their pockets with $$$

J EN: Easy parking. Great vibe. Bar and fantastic tired seating in the theatre so everyone gets a great view of the show. Quait historic buikdinand atmosphere. Support local artists.

Nick Storelli: Great venue. But: $19 for a non filling medium size hamburger, with few potato chips instead of the real chips ,classified as a meal. You are joking. Surely you can do better than this for pricing.

Sharon Eves: Super cool venue hidden in plain sight, and so much more than just a theatre.Great friendly staff, lovely food, atmospheric al fresco drinking and eating space, super cool indoor bar area that feels more like the front lounge of a charismatic thespian than a public bar. She is an out of this world extravaganza. From time to time, there are guided tours held here so many people can enjoy her beauty. Her Majesty's Theatre is more than just a theatre, she is a 21st century modern masterpiece, a world class national treasure of the absolute highest order.

Steven Dewhirst: SA Gay Pride Awards held there great service and the space was excellent

Prima Troep: Nice place ambiance, lacking sign "entry4". Wonder what the acoustics are. The pianist Beving was playing a piano with speakers. From where I was sitting, more or less 8m from them, I could hear the piano ánd the speakers almost at the same time. Almost..Annoying.

Steven Dewhirst: Friend had a exhibit there was a great space

Michelle Swincer: Easy access to seats. Great view of the stage even though we were at the back.

Carol Overweel: The Dunstan Playhouse is a great place to watch live entertainment. Went to see "The Woman in Black", the smaller more intimate size of the theatre made the actors seem closer and you could be more involved in the performance. The venue may be in need of some refurbishment to the seating etc but I found it a great night of entertainment and forgot these issues when the play started. Most impressed with the two actors, John Waters is such a versatile actor and the amount of dialogue that both actors delivered over the two hour performance was amazing. Brilliant job by both👏👏👏

Renee Walker: A great theatre for more intimate performances, have seen a couple of theatre pieces here and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere Dunstan Playhouse creates.

Jane Chapman: Went and saw Potted Potter at the Dunstan Festival Theatre, it was absolutely brilliant....

brett stirzaker: Two parts to the UNESCO Jazz performance. The first act was poorly engineered into the Playhouse. Reflects poorly on the band & Jazz in Adelaide. The second part, the Thomas Voss BB was excellent by tunes, performance & engineering into the Playhouse. This was a true indication of Jazz & music in Adelaide, bravo, more please & soon.

Rainer Leupold: It a good theatre to be in

Fayez Sayegh: Small cinema with a great range of movies at a small cost, however the last few times I have come the entire place smells awful :/

Harry Jones: $10 for 2 full movies, with a short break in the middle for collecting more snacks. Only thing is they don't have hot popcorn, but they play some of the latest movies in a terrific art deco cinema with amazing service and hospitality.

Emory Harris: Absolute gem of a cinema. The theatre itself has a nostalgic charm, the old school seats are very comfortable, and the ability to see a double feature for a reasonable price really set this cinema apart. I was first brought to this cinema by the chance to see a wider variety of film. I will continue to come for the charm, the wonderful service, and for how this theatre really gives that magic cinematic experience - a brief respite from the hustle and bustle of the world.

Heather Chapman: Fabulous value , saw two brilliant movies for only $10 and pizza later on Jetty road, a great afternoon.

Maryann Pearson: You can’t beat the value of viewing movies at this cinema. Two movies on the big screen for $10 and a candy bar packed with lots of goodies and filtered coffee at interval. The sound quality was good and the musicians excellent, they seemed well supported by the staff at the venue. Shame about other patrons who disrespected the support artist and other members of the audience by talking loudly throughout. No wonder we don't get great acts with that kind of rubbish. I wish venues would do more in terms of codes of conduct and enforcing them, to protect the experience of other patrons and performers and kick those idiots out.
