The Howling Owl: what do users think?

KURTIS SKUSE: The experience at The Howling Owl was incredible. Walking in, I was totally in love with the aesthetic of the room. It felt like a earth-bound, rustic bar that made you feel like you’re travelling in the hills and you stop by to enjoy the local flavour. The food was great! Ordered the Ham & Cheese sandwich and some drinks, enjoyed it through its every detail! It didn’t just feel like a regular sandwich, it was definitely made with passion!Overall great place, definitely recommend everyone to go here. I Can’t wait to come back and try more off the generous selection they have!

Claude Nortier-de Lieven: Went for a show on a friend's birthday. Just sit & watch ventriloque. 1h show. Well done & funny. Didn't consumed. Drink or eat.Atmosphere: 5/4

Jodie Fraser: We held our daughter's 21st at The Howling Owl. What an awesome venue. From when we first booked the event Rachel and the team were outstanding. Their communication was excellent. Everything we discussed regarding the event was actioned. The staff on the evening were fantastic. Everything went to plan and our guests absolutely loved the evening. They were raving about the venue and 'the vibe'. The retro pieces of furniture and the cool artwork added an extra touch to the venue. The long bar bench was perfect for a grazing platter too. There was ample seating for those that wanted to chill out and plenty of room for dancing too. Every aspect of the venue and the event was perfection. Thank you Rachel and the team. It was a special and memorable event for my daughter and out family. Many thanksJodie and Andrew Fraser

Maybe Mae: what do users think?

Avijeet Sen: . The entrance is sort of “hidden”. The restaurant Bread & Bone and Maybe Mae are located in the same building, expect that for Maybe Mae you go downstairs to the basement and then try to find the “invisible door” 🙂Ended up trying 4 drinks - Bill Murray, Corpse Reviver, Odd Company and Poolside. Every drink was really good. I’d recommend folks to try more stuff from their ‘Hall of Fame’ menu. This place is a 100% recommendation for cocktail enthusiasts visiting Adelaide.

bonbon and pumpkin: When I arrived it has just opened and I was the first one in the establishment, which was very relaxing.Staff were extremely friendly and explained how everything worked

Woz Ray: .Thanks for a nice cocktail session.

Kym Tomlinson: , Poolside, Middleton Mango. All delicious and as described on the menu

Paul O'Bree: First time visitor, blown away by the excellent range of many different selections.Looking forward to coming back again.

Enrico Becker: Awesome place biggest Whiskey Selection in Adelaide and other rare finds...this is Adelaides answer to what “The Baxter’s Inn” is for Sydney. My recommendation try the Glenfiddich Reserve Cask what a great limited whiskey or The Balvenie Doublewood 12 years one of my favourite whiskeys.

Darren Tan: Great selection of whisky and good recommendations from the bartender!

Amar Cheema: Beautiful wall of whiskies adorned on the wall and equally amazing quality of whiskies from around the globe.Great experience and good fun chatting with the bartender. Will surely come back when I visit Adelaide again.

Thomas Egan: Always a pleasure. Fantastic knowledgeable staff, friendly environment, exceptional choice on offer. Picklebacks are a staple and part of my food triangle now

Lloyd Nazareth: Excellent quality cocktails with exceptional service. Great atmosphere in a bar that offers late night food

David Maddison: Suzie Wong is my favourite bar in Adelaide CBD.When you enter, the wall of spirits is impressive and the lighting throw it creates a warm atmosphere. The barman is super helpful and I’m usually not a fan of a negroni but he convinced me otherwise - wow - what a drink! Impressively prepared and served

Anne Powlett: I LOVE this place. But the seccy with the white beard is so infuriating, if he’s on don’t bother lining up , just tell him he looks cute tonight or something and he will just let you cut the line. But as a contrast shoutout to Errol, now that man is a security guard, honestly would make him the godfather to my children I trust him.All in all fantastic venue that deserves 5 stars but your “security guard” loses one

Maddison Jorgensen-Lamph: Our experience at therapy was perfect. Kate was an exceptional therapist substitute with excellent alcoholic expertise. Her cocktails were flavoursome and surpassed expectations. Her service was the best I've ever experienced in the hospitality industry. I am so grateful to have experienced her bar persona and talent first hand. Her influence at therapy cocktail. Would come again just for her welcoming atmosphere.

Woz Ray: Enjoyed a cocktail here after dinner - the gals on the bar were super friendly and we swapped bar anecdotes.I discovered two new cocktail ingredients- luxardo and crĂšme de Violette in the pictured cocktail called Aviation.Recommend this bar.

Sam Croft: Wow, what an array of great cocktails! The selection that we had were all very nice. But a standout for this establishment was the welcoming staff, thank you guys!

Avijeet Sen: Visited in Sep 2024Made a visit to Hains & Co during my recent trip to Adelaide. It was one of the 3 cocktail bars I went to in ADL, the other ones being Maybe Mae and Bibliotheca. Hains has decent cocktails but nothing stood out for me personally. The Smuggler’s Soul cocktail was my fav among the ones I tried.Overall a decent bar which is worth a visit.

Lorena McIntyre: Incredible little hidden gem of a bar, Kristian and Josh took great care of us. Will definitely be back!

Charlie Hannemann: Such a fun place, never a dull moment with the movers and shakers behind the bar, shout out to Wilson for the whisky sours!

Matt Richards: love love love this place!! such good food, brilliant atmosphere and decor, always so cozy and warm. but the highlight is undoubtedly the amazing bartenders, who are so inviting and make the BEST cocktails. I was served by Zoe, who was so quick with our drinks and did it all with a big smile on her face. very impressed by her and the rest of the team, i’d recommend this place to everyone 11/10

Andrew “Limiter SS9”: What a mad experience!!!This was by far one of the most memorable things I’ve done in Australia. It’s so unique and original. Definitely worth doing with a good group of colleagues or friends. I wish it went for longer. Our host was really fun and sensible and was perfect for the job. It was a really fun way to see Adelaide. Definitely recommend it.

kirti prakash: The bike itself was great, we got beers for a very reasonable price and even had music to motivate us. The restaurants we visited for dinner were all awesome, never knew we had these hidden gems in adelaide! Only one tip, be sure youre fit to cycle, it was quite a workout! All in all a great experience, would definitely recommend! You havent truly experienced adelaide unless youve gained the handlebar experience!

Chelsea Chen: Very interesting and fun. Must try

Lisa James: So glad we decided to visit this devine restaurant! The vibes are very chic, so ambient and cosy. Staff are exceptional, they know their wine and made a great recommendation. We always enjoy a "Feed Me" menu and we weren't disappointed. Delicious food!Definitely a place to visit 😍

WhiteNoise: . We had the snails

Mr Creosote: for “nibbles” it was a lot more than just nibbles and was fantastic, excellent blue, Brie and pates ! Highly recommend would not hesitate to visit again!

Carrick F: Gorgeous haunt; slightly off the well-beaten track that is Adelaide's main night-life strip. The service and conversation provided by Clancy was great, bringing a much needed breath of fresh air to an otherwise possibly stuffy atmosphere.Food prices and portioning left something to desire, but from the small taste I did afford, it was anything but disappointing. I would recommend anything that includes their porcini & lentil pate and pickled crudites.

Thu Trinh: Great food, great service, great drinks. The place is warm and cosy. Best for small groups or couples.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian pate is delicious

Maria Kl: Nice atmosphere. The food is generally decent, but my pizza was burnt and therefore very dry.

jose miguel gil: I've been a regular at this coffee place for over a year now, and it's become an integral part of my daily routine. The coffee is consistently good, but it's the exceptional hospitality that sets it apart from other coffee shops in the area. The staff is always friendly, engaging, and welcoming. Special mention to Hannah and Mathilda for making every visit a pleasure, as well as former staff members Anna, Molly, Mathilda, and Eloise, who have all contributed to the warm atmosphere. My daily coffee routine is definitely a highlight of my day!

Holly Dolphin: Coffee from the deli is AMAZING! Hannah always has a smile on her face and always has the best service.

MeowMe Cat Cafe: what do users think?

Nattharat Siripakkulwat: since he’d hate to turn customers down. It’s a small but warm-hearted place packed with variety of delightful dishes. The gentleman said spring rolls were to die for and it was not far from the truth!! Loved every single bite of it. The cakes and drinks were also lovely!A minimum purchase of 1 drink and 1 dish

Terry Masson: I took my 76yo Dad out to MeowMe today, it was really wonderful. He's in aged care and hasn't had pets for a long time, and we had some time between appointments, so it was a lovely treat.10/10, will be back again. Ty MeowMe team, you're all amazing!

Sasha and Georgia: Food and coffee overall was okay. The cakes in the window looked absolutely delicious, although we never tried them, so no comment. The hospitality was nice. The atmosphere was enjoyable, and obviously the cats were the highlight off it all. It’s great to hear that 2000 cats have been rehomed through the MeowMe adoption program.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly

Robin Skinner: I've been looking at visiting for at least a few years now and I've finally just done it, and MeowMe does not disappoint. Both of the staff members I'd interacted with were polite and welcoming and the food was very good even if I didn't end up finishing my muffin during my visit. There was only one issue that I had and it wasn't really their fault, but I did find the cat room itself to be a bit cramped even with only a couple other people in it. I hope that they do well enough to get it expanded, because I had a fantastic time otherwise and would hate for it to spoil other peoples experience.

Ethan’s Insights (Eth): It was an amazing cafe tbh. The truely amazing thing were the cute and adorable kittens. Food was good and fancy, the whole place gave an antique vibe. However the prices were ridiculously high, $50 for some cafe food and you could get things way more cheaper at a different cafe. It’sworth the visit though cause of the kittens.

Jessica Galea: They give cats and kittens an amazing place to potentially be adoptedI will be returning to the place soon.I definitely recommend visiting and adopting a furry friend if you can provide a home for one.3

From SJB: The service is slow and when paying, the lady accidentally put the decimal point in the wrong place, but she fixed it up when I pointed it out. The food is very good. The old guy who runs the place is a wind bag and he’s very irritating. However, the food is great and most staff are very nice, but not good at service, and the cars are best of all. It’s easy to put up with the negatives when the food is so good, the people are nice, and the cats are cute. But if the owner reads this: Please relax and step back a bit. You don’t need to drive the points home like nails. This place is worth a visit. Also, your cakes are obviously frozen and they have that fishy smell. Please do better.Parking: There is plenty of parking on the road, but be careful.

Craig Matchett: place in the heart of Adelaide. Service was great. Pizza lovely, steak 100% tasty! The bar man forgot to put my order through as he thought I was waiting for my wife

Carmel Slice: An evening at the Black Bull—where good times and hearty meals abound! Booking ahead is wise, for this place draws a crowd eager for its delights. Now, onto the stars of the show: the steaks! Two brave souls tackled the mighty 500-gram steaks, while a third dared to conquer the legendary kilo steak—all cooked to perfection, fulfilling carnivorous dreams with every tender, juicy bite. And as if that weren't enough, desserts beckoned, providing a sweet finale to an evening of culinary conquests.Throughout it all, the staff's warmth and friendliness added to the charm, ensuring your dining experience was as delightful as the food itself. So, mark my words: a return visit to the Black Bull is not just a suggestion—it's a delicious promise waiting to be fulfilled!
