Soi38 Regional Thai Restaurant: what do users think?

Things I Find “Robby Robstar” Interesting: I'm always scared when we order the 'just feed us' menu. The first dish that came out was tiny, but the flavour was huge. The waitor called it the snack. As each meal came out, we had a decent amount of rice or roti to go with it.Each bite was better than the last. Each dish out shining the last. I didn't realise that Thai food tasted and looked this great.Of course, I had to match my food with a Thai beer and I was transported to Thailands most modern 5 star restaurant. The waitor was so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure everything was good and kept up with the drinks.By the time we finished our food, we entered a food comma. We tried to walk it off by walking to the cinema, paying for our tickets, and falling asleep. Haha.I highly recommend this place.

Alex Vasek (Alex's Ace's): 🌟 ** Dining Experience at @soi.38 Adelaide ** 🌟If you're a fan of authentic Thai cuisine or simply in search of a remarkable dining experience in Adelaide, look no further than Soi 38. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were captivated by the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The decor perfectly blends traditional Thai elements with contemporary design, creating a cozy and inviting space that immediately sets the tone for an exceptional meal. Our culinary journey began with a selection of appetizers that were both visually stunning and incredibly delicious. Each bite was tender, juicy, crispy, and bursting with flavour, offering a tantalizing glimpse of the culinary delights that lay ahead. For our main course, we indulged in a variety of dishes that showcased the rich, aromatic flavours of Thai cuisine. Crispy pork belly with vegetables was a highlight, featuring perfectly cooked pork belly and chilli spices with crispy vegetables is a harmonious balance of sweet, sour, and savory notes. Equally impressive was the chicken massaman, a symphony of flavours with tender chicken pieces, vibrant vegetables, and a creamy, coconut-infused sauce that provided just the right amount of heat. The dessert was no less impressive. We couldn't resist trying the black Sticky Rice, a classic Thai treat that provided the perfect end to our meal. The sweet, ripe lagoon paired with the creamy coconut sticky rice was a match made in heaven, leaving us thoroughly satisfied and eager to return. What truly set our dining experience apart was the impeccable service. The staff at Soi 38 were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. They took the time to explain each dish, offered recommendations, and ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect.Whether you're a longtime fan of Thai cuisine or looking to explore new culinary horizons, Soi 38 promises an unforgettable dining experience that will leave you coming back for more. Highly recommend! 🍜🍛

Andrew Ng: The rump steak was pretty ordinary, barely above the pub grubs I usually pay less than half for. It was full of sinews and ligaments and dry, but the sauces were much better. So I still give it a 3 stars. The service was above average but the attitude was underwhelming esp when my friend told the staff of his opinion on the goat curry which has the same problem as the rump steak. She didn't respond well to the constructive criticism.I know the hospitality business is going through a rough patch now and I don't want to disparage any outlet into folding up.I will still give Soi 38 another go, afterall I can't rule out that tonight is one of those off occasions for the chef. I will drop by again next week or after.

Golden Boy: what do users think?

Me Pips: We’ve been to Golden Boy so many times. Yeah, it’s that good. Tonight we had great table service - thank you Isaiah! And it got me thinking what’s so great about Golden Boy. I mean apart from the spectacular food. It’s the customer service. The wait staff know the menu and are passionate about the dishes, relaying the details with wide eyed enthusiasm. A delight as always.

Sara: My daughter took me to Golden Boy on a Monday at lunchtime. We were celebrating my birthday as well as her own, which both occur in August. We chose to order the tuk tuk menu rather than having a full a la carte. We mentioned what type of tastes we had when it came to Asian fusion/Thai food and let the staff serve us a variety of dishes. The portions were extremely generous and absolutely delicious. The staff waited until we had consumed one dish before bringing on another. We can highly recommend the betel leaf with ocean trout if you enjoy something spicy - such delicate little servings, and the soft shell crab dish was a particular winner. Diners have both spoon and fork as cutlery or can use chopsticks if preferred.Coconut ice cream was an ideal dessert.Chilled wine accompanied our meal. The young man who waited on us was a delight.I cannot speak highly enough of Golden Boy and am at a loss to understand the couple of negative reviews I have read. The positives certainly outweigh that minority anyway.

Ruth Carpenter: Golden Boy was recommended to us, and we're so glad we went there. It was the best meal of our 3 weeks holiday in Australia! The service was excellent. Georgie, who served us, was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. She gave good advice too.The food itself was to die for. We chose the tasting menu, and it was hard to choose a favourite from all the tasty, interesting dishes. We're planning to come back to Adelaide and will be booking Golden Boy for sure, maybe every night!

Keith Seanard: We have gotten into the habit of doing the chefs choice menus and this was one of the best. The waitress asked about preferences and I had a beef main and everyone else got to share seafood and chicken. Don’t be fooled by the small serving sizes, I left feeling very full. The food was fresh and seasoned perfectly. Since it was my wife’s birthday, they brought her a funny desert. My only complaint was the loud music more suited to a bar than dining.Vegetarian options: My girls were quite happyParking: I suggest you Uber to and from as there is no easy parking

Mitchell Hadjinicolaou: My partner and I had dinner at the restaurant on Saturday night celebrating my birthday. I have been to Golden 4 times and it never disappoints. We were served by Georgia who informed us she had only been working there for a month but her service was exceptional and she said she was really enjoying working there. The food was amazing and a great variety. The 8 courses we shared was more than enough food and we were never waiting too long between dishes. Can’t recommend a better place and we are looking forward to our next time there.

LADAMSPIANO: . They all contain very flavourful food, and we even had left overs which were amazing for lunch the next day.The atmosphere in there was amazing, nice subtle music, and everyone simply delighting in the food they were being served. All the staff were extremely polite and professional! If I could I would give this place a 6/5 stars it was that amazing. Thanks for leaving a lasting impression 😁Dietary restrictions: They can make anything to suit the dietary needs. Very versatile menu with interchangeable ingredients. My girlfriend has celiac so they made sure everything was gluten free!

Anthony Tavelli: Wow, what an amazing experience, service was great. Food was brilliant and the atmosphere was fantastic. Thank you for a beautiful eveningAtmosphere: 5/5 …

Alvin: I came here with friends and the service was excellent. Honestly, the best customer service I’ve had in Adelaide. We ordered the drunken noodles, the pad Thai and a fried rice dish and it was all pretty good. They were either medium or mild spice and I felt the levels would be bearable for most people. The food was flavorful, the wait time wasn’t too long and the atmosphere was good.

Nigel Bateman: It was our wedding lunch ,we chose the feed me menu, great choice, everyone loved it. We had forgotton to tell them about a coconut allergy which they catered for immediately without any fuss.It was a great lunch food and service were excellent. Star of Siam added to our perfect day😊

Rebekah B: Some of the best service I have received and yummy food. The service staff are very friendly attentive. I've never seen such a quick kitchen. I was travelling solo for work and I didn't feel awkward sitting by myself at the table.

MickBoo Dwyer: We came here for a 70th birthday celebration after reading reviews, and it could not have been more perfect. The floor team, the food…everything was so so good. We’ve found our new favourite restaurant. Thank you to all the team working at the restaurant tonight. It was really special. ❤️Kid-friendliness: The kids loved it. Don’t expect nuggs and chips. Adapt and encourage! We went for the chicken skewers for our fussiest 7 year old and he polished off the lot! The teen wanted to work her way through the menu 😁

Krish: . The real star of the show here is the food. It's delicious, and the service is lightning fast.

Rosie: The food was nice. They manage everything very well with only 2 staff on the floor. The only one thing made me very unhappy because we entered the restaurant with another couple, we were behind him one step. They let the other couple choose the table and they chose the table for 4 even they only have 2 people. To my turn, I picked the table for 4 as well because we have 2 big jackets and we need at least a chair to put on. They didn’t let me. I said: why it’s ok for that couple but not for me?They said many reasons.I think it’s not nice to treat people unfair like this as we are all spend money at the restaurant.Hope manager can see my message and improve the service.

Matthew Thyer: Excellent salads. I'm updating my 4 star review of seven years ago as the food is now very good.Food: 5/5 …

Stuart Macdonald: .

oH ricE foodie: Went to Krung Thep, a Thai restaurant in North Adelaide known for authentic Thai cuisine. We had a fantastic meal! The Soft Shell Crab with Almonds and Garlic was crispy and delicious, prepared with a secret recipe chosen by the chef. The Signature Pineapple Fried Rice was exceptional and highly recommended! The rice and ingredients were perfectly blended, providing satisfaction with every bite.Thai cuisine is all about quick, fiery stir-frying to bring out the flavors of the spices, and this restaurant nailed it. It's one of the most authentic Thai meals I had in recent years! To complement the excellent dishes, we paired them with Rockford's "South Australian Star" wine, along with good friends. Cheers to good food, good wine, and good company! 🥂I went with a group of handsome guys and beautiful friends to an authentic 🇹🇭 Thai restaurant in North Ade that Ali liked - Krung Thep. Soft Shell Crab - Almond Garlic plus the chef's secret recipe! Soft and delicious! Signature 🍍pineapple rice, highly recommended! The rice and ingredients are well blended, and every bite is satisfying. Thai food is all about high fire and fast frying to bring out the spices. His family has done it. This is one of the more authentic Thai food Ali has eaten in the past few years!🎈Good food must be paired with Rockford🌟"South Australia Star", good food should be paired with good wine and good friends! 🥂

Susan B: Fully packed restaurant on an autumn Saturday evening. Prompt service. Good serving sizes. Tasty spicy food. Tasted delicious. Had the Crying Tiger steak and the Duck Red Curry. The restaurant is BYO.Parking: Parking out the front of the restaurant if you can get it otherwise use street parking around the area.

Melinda Harley: Excellent service, food and atmosphere for my sister's 50th birthday dinner. The whole family were very pleased. I'll be back for the delicious broccoli and salt and pepper tofu, both were exceptional 👌 😋Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian and vegan opions.

Mauri Trinca: Food was absolutely great.Staff were attentive and enquired about any allergies when taking orders.Food came out quite promptly even though there were 12 at our table and the place was full and they were also taking takeaway orders as well.Amazing.They even organised the presentation of 2 birthday cakes!!Only issue was noise, but our table may have been the noisiest.Overall, a great experience

Megan Cornelius: We ordered and shared 5 dishes, ranging from chicken, duck and beef, curries, noodles and wok. We could not fault any dishes. Finally an authentic Thai restaurant, that when it says chilli, it actually has chilli and a good balance between sweet, salty and sour. The service was polite and friendly. It's a return to restaurant for us.

Emma Soar JVC: Absolutely amazing food!!! Ordered the Basil Fried Rice, Salt and Pepper Soft Shell Crab, Thai Beef Salad, Tiger Beef and wow-wee. As someone that does not really eat seafood the soft shell crab was hands down my favourite dish. The salt and pepper seasoned crust on it was delightful. Total for the meal plus two vodka sunrises only came to $118 so also such good value for money. Portion sizes were also pretty big and perfect for sharing They are also on Uber Eats, so def on a cold night in watching the football with be ordering this in. Thank you for a lovely meal tonightDietary restrictions: The fact the waiter asked at time of ordering if we had any, and allergies is amazing service. Never have been asked this when dining out

This time however I used their AMAZING app to order some delivery because convenience is key and WOW WOW WOW was I impressed. The app allows me to view the menu, order, get discounts, and plus it is all sooooo convenient. I can't see myself being a customer at any other thai restaurant, considering how awesome the app has made Zaep Tastes Of Thailand!!!!

Wasu Nakchan: Authentic Thai taste close to the city. The bbq pork was so good. I would recommend fired ice-cream. It was so good.

Mark Storer: When you can provide excellent food, service and atmosphere you get a five star review easy and this place has all three!Vegetarian options: Spicy and plain and all authentic Thai - mmm.Kid-friendliness: Really pleasant and accommodating for kids and the parents appreciate that.

Kerrie Leong: Pad Thai with large prawns n dried shrimps cooked in high heat. Best I have tasted in Adelaide. Green papaya salaa is an excellent accomplimemt. Red curry roasted duck again excellent! Attentive staff. Highly recommend this place.

Verity: Ordered takeout for the family and they really enjoyed it. The prawns in our pad thai were delicious and perfectly cooked, I found the beef a little tough in our other one.My personal standout was the pad kee mao, it’s the first time I’ve tried this dish. Delicious flavour from the wok and very wide noodles which I love. They packed the takeaway boxes completely full. We ordered 4 noodle dishes for 5 ppl but had enough left over to fill a container.

Kaylee Kaylee: I am a staff at Thai By 3 Monkeys Restaurant and I gotta say I am in love with ❤️ the steamed fish which I often order for me every weeks to get more calcium . It is the freshest and the most delicious fish in Adelaide in my heart. I recommend everyone to try the ginger fish 🐬🐬 and order the chef 🧑🏻‍🍳👨🏾‍🍳 to cut the head and tail and remove the fish bones cuz sometimes there will be some bitter flavour in these parts of the fish and to be honest I also feel a little bit scared 😣 when seeing these parts when eating. But don't worried, the chef 👩🏼‍🍳👨🏻‍🍳 here is very friendly and accommodating, they always willing to adjust suitable thing to make you feel happywhen eating there🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️. The Pla Goong 🐙🐙 salad stands out in my memory as I feel like there is a small ocean 🌊 🌊 in my mouth when eating this fresh salad. The atmosphere here is also satisfying and enjoyable as everyone is very nice with each other and treating customers like we are both family 👩‍❤️‍👨👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩. emily s: This was my 4th visit and my husbands 3rd and we live 5 hours away just over the border.Have enjoyed the food so much every time that when house sitting in Unley we have to come.Started with the peppered quail and the marinated king prawns and shared the minced chicken with Thai basil. We’re not disappointed.Yum!

Michael Rogers: We moved into the area a few months ago and you are always unsure when trying a new restaurant, if they will match your previous "local". I ordered one night during the first week of moving in and was absolutely delighted with the quality, taste and freshness of the food. Very tasty, very healthy and very well priced. When we choose to dine-in, the service is exceptional and we are always greeted with a smile. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere, suitable for the whole family and an appriopriate wine list. I could eat there every night.Vegetarian options: Great options with a seperate Vegetarian list on the menu. The chefs will usually also make a vegetarian version of the meat curries too which are amazing.Kid-friendliness: Suitable for families with kids. Its not a fast food location so there's no running around but its not exclusive for parents either.

Jodi Morton: Went on a Sunday evening which explains the rating for atmosphere. Food delicious, great service, nice location. Definitely recommend if you enjoy Thai. Lamb massaman is exceptional.Vegetarian options: Heaps to choose from. One of our guests was veggie, gluten and sugar free. Chefs were happy to accommodate.

Adrian: Starting off with the look of the restaurant, it had a very cool industrial brick look to both the interior & exterior with a touch of a thai feeling. The lighting was also very nice.We ordered a chicken pad thai & a chicken & prawn pad thai and were very happy with it. Huge portion size that we had to get a takeaway container for.The price of the food was decent & the service was fine.I recommend this restaurant!

Frank Buechele: What a great little hidden away place to eat. Great food, good choices for dietary requirements and great on checking allergens. Lovely staff.Vegetarian options: Lots. A whole menu sectionDietary restrictions: Excellent options, clear labels and staff double checked at ordering

Yamini Yadav: I recently organised my birthday dinner here.We had the banquet menu!I can not speak highly enough of the staff! They were attentive and kind! Accommodated our food requests with no issues! Thefood was delicious! And the banquet had so much food! The cocktails were also delightfulIt was an excellent experience!

Jon Hunter: Excellent service and a nice industrial-looking place.Salt and pepper eggplant was excellent.Beef cheek in red curry was by far the standout, although $40 is far too much for a Thai curry. Pork belly stir fry was ok, but the pork wasn't crispy, so it was a bit like jelly, and again $37 is too much.Thai fried rice and Pad Thai were fine, but I wouldn't pay $29 each for them. The special dessert of cheesecake spring rolls were a nice touch though.Perhaps if the prices were 25-30% cheaper it would be 5 stars but I can't justify it.

Eloise: Cosy restaurant nestled in a lane way,Lovely interior and vibe.Food is great but not if you can't handle a bit of spice !Great for small groups, probably could have used a little more table space for all the food we ordered 😄
