Last time we went to sugar we had an absolute great time whacky atmosphere and vibe. Felt like a fever dream ( in a good way ). However we went last night and the security on the door was horrible. I know this may not be sugars fault but I find it really disappointing. Unfortunately our friend who’s come all the way from whales was refused entry because his id photo looked “about 10 years old”. Mind the fact that he is 20 so I don’t think his id makes him look 10. And wasn’t an “Australian id”. I don’t see how you can be refused because your id photo looks too young especially “10 years”. Actually a breach of the equality act from 2010. Anyways girl doing the entry was lovely, and cheap entry
Absolute one of a kind venue. Nothing like it in Adelaide, never has been and never will be. Great staff, cool venue, only the best music and sounds, and pro-socially responsible - something you don't always see in venues in this era. Big love to Driller and Co.
It was probably one of the most magical places I've ever been too, the artwork was glow in the dark, but I loved the atmosphere it was so genuine and fun, great music, fashion is important, would love to make a painting for this place, the interior design was beautiful loved the decorating

Mel Hoo: Bouncer here was great and very friendly, the club was actually clean which seems to be rare in Adelaide, even the toilets were too which was great. If you like a disco vibe the music and lights are great. However the bar tender told me he could only do red bull and Malibu. But overall was a great club!!

Filip Kaličanin: Since i saw all the european and american artist this club brought to adelaide i have to say that you guys here need to be more appreciative cause this is an elite selection of music artists, the crowd was too small the other day i guess adelaide people dont have elite taste.Club looks nice with funny small balls pool tables. 8bucks for gin and tonic not so bad, i guess other prices are ok too.The only thing is the sound, its kinda bad, they have funktion one but it is either too old and dont produce good sound anymore or somebody need to adjust the amp.

Tom, who served me, showcased exceptional bartending skills along with a friendly smile and charm.The burlesque show was fantastic—engaging and interactive, which really enhanced the excitement of the evening.As a lover of dance, the performers personally convinced me to try burlesque myself. Their energy and charisma were truly inspiring, and their performances left me eager to explore this art form further.The surprise of a rooftop pool, used creatively in the performances, added a unique touch.The live music was lively and fun, with audience participation encouraged, which made the experience even more enjoyable.Plus, the luxurious lift to the rooftop was a nice touch that set this venue apart from the usual. Highly recommend Nineteen Ten for a memorable and fun night out!

The children played in the pool while the adults chatted . Everyone had a great afternoon party and I really recommend this venue tucked away private and fun

Great roof top views, an intimate seating area around a small swimming pool, lots of attention to small details, exceptional table service, great cocktails, including pacers and mocktails. We definitely plan on making it a regular haunt!

The Semaphore Workers Club hosted the University of Adelaide Elder Conservatory of Music Big Band who played some classic big band tunes.The drinks were cheap - $8 Coopers stubbies and they had cheap food too with $6 cheese toasties and $6 homemade soup.A great atmosphere, quirky and historic communist propaganda, full sized free snooker tables and homely furnishings make for a great night out with friends.

Fantastic bands and people always get up and dance. Sometimes they have a sausage sizzle or some other yummy bargain eats on the front porch. And don't forget the beautiful sea views from the beer garden out front. Lovely on a sunny Sunday summer afternoon!

Very nice bar and door staff who were having fun and making the vibe really nice, and drinks were ridiculously well priced across the board! Music could be a little bit more innovative or different, it really feels like Woolshed or Cherry 2.0 instead of sticking out like Dog & Duck did, but it’s mostly good!Only real issue I have is the security, who get a bit aggressive at times and take away from the atmosphere. I was pretty tired after having a good night of drinking, and took a nap on one of the couches on the main floor to take a break, only to be woken up very aggressively by a security guard and escorted out as if I had gotten into a fight. I do understand that there were a lot of people there on the opening night but it would be nice if the security could respect those who haven’t done anything wrong and be more polite in asking them to leave if necessary.Besides that, really good place, nice to see the revamp be so successful, hopefully it lasts! Will definitely be coming back - albeit wishing that some elements were a little more improved!

Had an area for 35 guests booked in the fish tank area, we were given a small seated area that fitted around 10 of us, we were the furthest away from the fish tank. I was responsible for the cake and I was never told they didn't supply plates or napkins to serve. If you are gonna be advertising to have birthday, engagements and other events at the venue it should be made clear to bring your own cake supplies.

Kelly O'Brien: We held my daughter's 18th birthday party in the function room upstairs and it was fabulous. The venue manager is second to none. Organised, super responsive and nothing was too much trouble. The room was perfect with seating in booths and plenty of room to dance. The bar is a good size so good access for getting drinks. Grazing table generous. I highly recommend Distill for any function/party.

Right from the outset, your service and willingness to assist was excellent and, to be honest, pleasantly surprising. Not only is the function space perfect for such occasions, you took all the stress away from organising such an event. We were able to enjoy the night watching our son and his friends have a fantastic time. With free venue hire, we felt the cost was very reasonable, particularly when you consider our designated security person and the monitoring of underage patrons. Having great IT infrastructure in place allowed us to display a photo presentation on loop and we were able to play our personal playlists through the venue’s sound system. Jack Lastname: This place is magical. Highly recommended if you are alternative and/or queer. I came here for their UK Garage night with my current partner and we felt very safe and welcome to dance and be cute on the dance floor. You really feel that antisocial people are not welcome here, and thus do not come here. This is one of the best venues in all of Adelaide/Tarndanya.My only constructive note is that the toilets are a little gross 😅

Tim Stew: for about five years ancient world has been my go to bar in Adelaide. It's pretty good and it's variety of karaoke on a Wednesday and live music over the weekend. If you can catch ancient world on a night where they're bands you get really good, intimate performances and I feel like a lot of the bands really do produce their best material in ancient world band. Space some of the electronica can be a little bit hit and miss, but I'm more a rock 'n' roll fan myself, I would recommend ancient world on any bucket list of backpackers, interstate, and international people wanting to get a taste of what Adelaide underground scene is like on any given night Tuesday to SundayVegetarian options: Excellent scan that was vegetarian/vegan sausage sizzle better than Bunnings
