I collect the Birthday cake the day before I need it because I have personally discovered the cake tastes better when the flavours have been given time to permeate through the cake.Prices are very reasonable and vary depending on cake size. Standard decorations are available and are quite nice. The cakes are cooked daily and are always very fresh. We love them.

Baking has been carried out at 54 Tynte Street almost continuously for over 160 years. The bakery was built in the early 1850s and altered to its present appearance in 1868. The Perryman family founded Perryman’s Bakery in 1925 and the business stayed in the family for 3 generations until it was sold to us in 2011.
The Perryman’s based the business on tradition, with many of the items baked using original family German recipes. This tradition continues today, as we bake onsite daily using premium, locally sourced ingredients including free range eggs, flour, vegetables, dairy and meats.
We pride ourselves on our artisan sourdough and ciabatta bread range, which included rolls, viennas, baguettes and sandwich loaves. We produce and bake our bread fresh daily, Monday to Sunday.
We can create a variety of cakes for birthday and other special events. Using quality ingredients including free range eggs and fresh cream, a cake by Perryman’s is great for any kind of celebration. Cakes can be personalised with a message written on top and your choice of decoration.
Don’t forget the sourdough you need for the weekend! Maybe some Rye for your Sunday morning cooked breakfast, or some square white loaves to wrap around sausages for the kids, or a baguette to cut up for a cheese platter. Max Chaff: An absolute institution of North Adelaide.It was slinging baked wares well before my parents were conceived and hopefully will still be doing so after I am long gone.The pasties are arguably the best in adelaide, they aren’t quite up to their prime from around 15 years ago but hands down the best beesting in adelaide and the cheese and onion sourdough is the greatest bread I have ever had the pleasure of consuming.The only pity is they only offer the sourdough on Saturdays.An excellent kids playground is at the end of the street a great excuse for a bakery picnic outing when the kids are sick of toast.
Happy Mummy: . But please, your beef pies sell out early every day, while loads of sausage rolls, pasties and other pies still fill the shelves. Why won't you adjust to the demand? Please, make more pies! To line up for a while, only to find out the one thing you want is already sold out by 12pm, you can do better! I have seen other people disappointed by this too.

Hard enough to find just one of the 'passion pair,' let alone both. At Orsola, a wide selection of Italian patisseries is baked on the premises AND the coffee is made with care. I guess you could call it a 'mangiare a trois' to mix languages/metaphors - tongue, pastry and coffee all having a really REALLY good time lol.

Michael Dow: Continues to have great pastries with the new owner. Some new things are being tried, eg, the danishes have a clear jelly coating, which is a bit thick and so looks odd. There are some new products: a Nutella cream filled pastry, which has too much filling. If you like pastry cream you might love it. My kids were delighted initially, but then gave up on it and ate around the filling.
Brenton Collas: Croissants are back on. I had an average experience here after the change of ownership, but went past this morning and grabbed a couple of plain croissants. They were fantastic. Looking forward to returning for my croissant fix.
Karl: The Best Croissants in Adelaide! These croissants are light and buttery while also being flakey and the right amount of chewy! Many other treats in store to try also but for me it’s a classic croissant every time. Make sure to phone ahead if you want some because they seem to sell out quick!

Roma van der Walt: I rarely write a review just to counter the reviews of people who don't take the time to get to know a legacy business like Canelle. They sell the best croissants in Adelaide, period. Those who have been going for years or even decades, would have known that there was a change in ownership between parties that had been in contact for a long time and knowing that the previous owner wouldn't have sold to someone they didn't trust with their recipe. And with change, comes a bit of adjustment. The difference in dough was due to external circumstances and was fixed by the current owner quickly. If you take the time to chat with him, he loves his trade, takes it very seriously and spends hard working hours none of us would want to work, to ensure that his baked goods come out as close to perfect as possible. He shouldn't be negatively impacted by a one-off experience. But frankly, for those who aren't going back: More croissants for us!

I'm not a big visitor to bakeries and can't really comment on their range of products, but they do fulfill my basic requirement: a full breakfast that serves as breakfast and lunch in one hit. Very moderately priced and good value. I'm in there roughly once a week.I haven't tried this yet, but they're open several nights a week for pizzas OR you can buy the ready-made pizza bases.I have noticed while there that they're very popular for bulk orders of all sorts of baked items.

John Bednarz: I was in Port Adelaide needing a coffee fix and was fortunate to stumble on the unassuming Mayfair Bakery & Patisserie cafe. My double shot cafe latte was of the highest order and I just could not resist sampling a homemade pasty and Belgian chocolate cheesecake which were just as impressive as the coffee. Rebecca Tompkins: A local pastry icon that is a little bit of Greece with every bite. Even the New York Cheesecake tasted like it spent a few days on the isle that is the store's namesake. Decent, rich creamy and feels like your grandmother's cooking. The decor is a loving homage Greece and the family history. Generations of love is in each bite. The flat white coffee was velvety and smooth. A fantastic pick-me-up. Be mindful that it's a small shop and can be noisy at busy times. There's alfresco dining outside. Right across the road from Drake's Torrensville, Kalymnos Pastries is a lovely place to drop in after getting your weekly groceries.The staff are friendly and welcoming. It was my first time ever today. I'm wondering why I took so long to visit. Food filled with flavour and heart.
