Holden Hill Music: what do users think?

Brendan Addison: After trying to teach myself for about a year and no longer improving and hitting a bit of a wall, I decided to bite the bullet and start having proper lessons. I was a bit skeptical at first but after the first lesson and meeting Doug, I knew I had made the right choice. I started with acoustic and after a couple of years I recently decided to pick up an elctric and give that a go. Despite the “change” in instrument, I thought it would be easy at first as it’s still just a guitar but quickly learned I’d have to learn some new techniques and theory. Doug’s professional yet friendly attitude has meant I have not only improved significantly at playing, but also now understand the theory behind it and how to read it. Whether we’re learning a song, scale or solo, Doug always breaks it down, explains and demonstrates it in a way that makes it both easy to read, understand, and most importantly play it. So if you’re looking for a guitar teacher that is experienced, professional, passionate and friendly, I highly recommend Doug and the team at Holden Hill Music.

Peter: Hi ! I just want to put it out there! If you ever looking for a great guitar teacher ask for Doug in Holden hill music shop. I have been learning how to play guitar with him for over six to eight months . I am over 60 so it’s not that easy to learn a new thing, however Doug is incredibly patient , and goes step by step according to my abilities, . Sometimes I get frustrated at home when practicing on my own, then I go to class with Doug and he makes me more exited about playing music, and thanks to him I just keep going and really enjoy learning. if you looking for someone to teach you guitar and is a great teacher I would recommend Doug who made me love my guitar. Any way I am going back to my guitar😀👍

Rebecca Kolodziej: Holden Hill music store has the most experienced salespeople who give qualified advice without any pressureMy husband has spent a lot of time in this shop as he loves his guitars and everyone is as passionate as he is and match his energy with the love of musicI just surprised my husband by paying off a guitar he had on lay-bys for father’s day and the staff were so excited for him to finally get itHe also has guitar lessons with Doug every week who he admires and cannot wait for each lesson and comes back home passionate to learn more .Amazing shop and stafffully recommend for that personalised service for whatever your music needs are

x gemstaa: was an incredible teacher. He taught me so much in such a short time period and helped me feel confident with my skills. It's not expensive at all and its half an hour lessons, which you can learn a lot in that time. I very highly recommend this place if you are looking to learn something new or to improve your skills!

Ken Carson: The very best in service & advice. I go here once a year with my grandson & love his anticipation of our visit

Paul Quinton: Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humour.Vinnie was able to help my son with his first guitar purchase, and even showed him what it can do.Great place with an awesome atmosphere.

Alan Byram: Great selection Of instruments and other gear

Neil Mitra: Great staff. Very helpful people and great collection of guitars, drums, basses, you name it.

Jennifer Kotsiou: Wanted to replace my elderly mothers harmonica. I think he was the owner but he looked after me so well and helped me choose another harmonica with some discount. He made me feel comfortable because I new nothing about music.I had an excellent experience and would recommend this brilliant looking music shop.

David Bills: Great setup on my new bass

Raja Jey: Great experience here, cool shop setup with all their guitars on display at the shop front. Lovely friendly people running it to have a good chat with. Following their setup on my Ibanez xiphos it's feeling as crisp as ever, playing real smooth, makes me feel like a better player even. Might be the most expensive guitar setup in Adelaide but the service and setup is immaculate, I consider it money well spent for a perfect setup, wouldn't go any cheaper and risk missing out on that Lauda guitars service 🔥🔥🔥.

NJ: .Chris not only made time to help me adjust the guitar to my specifications, but he made sure I was 100% happy with the result before I left. Also if you get the chance to play one of their custom made guitars in-house, do it because they are top tier quality. All my future services and guitar work will only be going to Lauda Guitars. Salvi's Fine Guitars: what do users think?

magictouch: I bought a Martin SC10e after researching and trying many guitars for months in various instrument stores. Off the shelf this one just felt right for me, it was more playable and comfortable compared to other models and other brands, but I knew it could do with an adjustment to improve it even more.My online research led me to Salvi’s. After Steve worked his magic, my guitar and I are in perfect harmony. He adjusted the neck relief, I am so relieved. Changed the strings and lowered the action, I’m now fluent and no longer a little high strung, and with the intonation adjusted, I don’t feel flat anymore. Seriously he did such a stellar job, this guitar is now at it's optimum setting. It is even easier and lighter to move around on. I just feels and sounds amazing. Thanks Steve, regards Mark.

Anas Safri: and brought it back to its former glory

ROMAN ACDC: Thank you so much for repairing my guitar. It sounds so beautiful now.Best customer service.

Phillip Tziortzis: Steve is friendly and clearly has a passion for his craft. After my first visit, I can confidently say that Salvi's is the only place I will take my guitars from now on. Highly recommend 10/10

William Daniell: Salvi’s never fails to provide the best service and product knowledge. Having been in when in need of set up restringing, repairs orseeking information to purchase a guitar they have been fantastic and very unassuming and giving of advice and direction. A great set of guys that know theirtrade that provide professional and very reliable product and repair workBill Daniell

David Pringle: Amazing. I took my daughter's electric bass in because it was fuzzing away. Steve stopped his job and cheerfuly investigated what might be wrong. He reckoned that the pickups were noisy and cheap - so we ended up agreeing on new pickups to be sent from interstate. The next avo at 3.00 I got a text saying that all was ready. I took the daughter in after school to collect - and she left with a dropping jaw. Amazed at how careful he was about explaining what he'd done and amazed at the lovely shop. A 10/10 experience!

Joe: Salvis did a great job fixing my banjo. Couldn't be happier. Thanks guys

Fidel Monk: .. so many beautiful old guitars for sale, I could definitely go broke & happy in this shop

Dorkus Malorkus: ...Im going to say the best prices in town when it comes to the work, and im willing to bet dollar for doughnuts that the work is going be just as good, if not better!!!

Ed Mitchell: Salvi's have done two jobs for me now - one was a MIM Fender P Bass which Doug set up to perfection with flatwound strings, new pickguard, pickups, pots and jack. The work was performed really neatly with an absolutely perfect setup. The other was a Gibson J45 acoustic guitar setup - this guitar had a pesky mystery vibration/rattle from within the body that Doug went above and beyond to find and eliminate - a lot of additional work involved which was much appreciated. This is now an absolutely amazing guitar thanks to these guys. Highly recommend.

David Daddow: Took my Maton EM225C to have some repairs and new Elixir strings . Feels better than new and price for the work done very affordable. Wouldn’t look to take anywhere else. Extremely happy.

Debra Milne: Steve has done an amazing job with 2 of my banjos, 3rd currently in store.. Extremely professional, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly..

oudonbail: I just had a look but very interesting store

Patrick Ellway: Brought in a neglected Steinberger Bass that Doug and Steve were able to bring it back to a wonderful condition and feels great to play. Thanks guys! 👍

Tristan Sowerby: The set up done on my 90's Rickenbacker 4003s is simply sensational.. can't state enough praise for the job done,The passion these guys have for their craft is palpable.. Thanks so so much!!

Michael Raymount: I took my very pretty but with very average playability instrument into Salvi's Fine Guitars and asked for a setup, hoping to improve it somewhat. After an inspection and a few background questions by Steve I left said guitar in their capable hands. Lo and behold, the very next day I got a call to inform me it was ready to pick up and as a result, I excitedly headed back to their premises.I picked it up, thanked all those involved and headed home to fully appreciate the difference that Doug had made to the way my guitar plays and sounds, its just not the same instrument, its that much better. And for the record viewers, you do not need an expensive, high end guitar to benefit from a setup by a quality luthier. So am I happy? Absolutely. Would I recommend Salvi's Fine Guitars to others? You bet. Would I use their services again? Without question, the service and value are something to be experienced and not often found in our fast paced modern world. Thanks again to the staff at Salvi's Fine Guitars.

Byron Hawksmith: Thank you very much Steve, pleasure to meet you mate.Steve did the intonation, action and neck adjustment on my ESP EC 256 in half an hour and it’s playing much better now. Will definitely be back and highly recommend his services.

Brian Freeman: Fantastic experience
