    Brendan Addison: After trying to teach myself for about a year and no longer improving and hitting a bit of a wall, I decided to bite the bullet and start having proper lessons. I was a bit skeptical at first but after the first lesson and meeting Doug, I knew I had made the right choice. I started with acoustic and after a couple of years I recently decided to pick up an elctric and give that a go. Despite the “change” in instrument, I thought it would be easy at first as it’s still just a guitar but quickly learned I’d have to learn some new techniques and theory. Doug’s professional yet friendly attitude has meant I have not only improved significantly at playing, but also now understand the theory behind it and how to read it. Whether we’re learning a song, scale or solo, Doug always breaks it down, explains and demonstrates it in a way that makes it both easy to read, understand, and most importantly play it. So if you’re looking for a guitar teacher that is experienced, professional, passionate and friendly, I highly recommend Doug and the team at Holden Hill Music.

    Peter: Hi ! I just want to put it out there! If you ever looking for a great guitar teacher ask for Doug in Holden hill music shop. I have been learning how to play guitar with him for over six to eight months . I am over 60 so it’s not that easy to learn a new thing, however Doug is incredibly patient , and goes step by step according to my abilities, . Sometimes I get frustrated at home when practicing on my own, then I go to class with Doug and he makes me more exited about playing music, and thanks to him I just keep going and really enjoy learning. if you looking for someone to teach you guitar and is a great teacher I would recommend Doug who made me love my guitar.     Our school has used Learning Through Music to enhance our music programs for over 10 years. The professional relationship developed with our school has been outstanding. All administration, the management of bookings, creation of timetables is done outside of school. Our students and parents are really happy with the standard of tuition as well as the learning outcomes

    My daughter has been learning violin since she was in Year 2 with Learning Through Music (Woodville). She is currently in Year 5 and still enjoying learning her instrument. She was also accepted early into the school band because of her ability.

He made the right call and I'm grateful for his advice. I'll definitely be heading back when I need a new guitar!
