Today’s work life require a quality education, and strong hands on experience including strong science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). A robust science & technology education creates critical thinkers, problem solvers, and produces the next generation of innovators. Can we do something to spark an interest?

Research shows that children develop interest in fields like Game Making, Robot building, Mobile App making, Computer Coding etc. at an average age of 7, where children can learn concepts of Physics & Maths in a practical way with the medium of Game characters / Robot movements.

Consider a typical 3-4 year-old’s worldview. They might not understand the principles of physics, but they do know that objects fall to the ground when dropped, they know balls bounce off walls, and they know cars speed along with the help of wheels.

There’s plenty of room to experiment within these simplistic parameters; you don’t need to know how to calculate a dot product to explain collision response and restitution, and kids know that some things are more slippery than others. Friction and drag and other concepts related to rigid-body Newtonian physics are the perfect subject matter for curious young minds.

What if we focus our energies in exposing children to the wonders of Science and Technology early on … in elementary and middle schools? What if, this early engagement with STEM is fun and connected with the real world of engineering and technology?

What if instead of just playing games and watching TV, your kids could actually make THEIR OWN games and animated stories?

This course is aimed for kids between 8 and 16 and they'll learn how to make simple games, stories and animation using Scratch & Minecraft, a visual programming platform for children created by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Scratch makes it very simple for kids to understand basic coding concepts and to make their creations come true by just dragging and dropping elements and connecting them with each other. It is highly visual, interactive and fun!

The course is project and concept based, this means we'll work though out actual examples that you can modify and play with afterwards. During the project we will explain the logics of programming and how to use those logics in different scenarios.

· Using intuitive building blocks to visually craft simple web games, stories and animations.

· Grasping programming concepts such as conditions and loops. Taught with a project-based methodology.

· Share their games and animations so that other people can play and modify them.

· Most importantly, understand how simple it is to make their creative ideas a reality in today's world

4worldlovers: We provide quality STEM educational workshops for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn and experience robotics using the Arduino platform.

Techspace Learning is a registered not-for-profit organisation focussing on delivering opportunities for people to engage in STEM related activities in an informal, hands-on, self paced environment.

To help achieve this, we run workshops and various other activities around the Adelaide region to show people they can take control of technology and build their own gadgets and robots.


We are currently partnering with many schools, libraries and other organisations around Adelaide to deliver these activities.

We provide training for teachers and other professionals in the basics of Arduino programming, enabling them to support their students in the classroom. The training is hands-on and practical with a focus on understanding the basic principles. The sessions are flexible and can be tailored to suit individual situations.


We can customise a display using a range of gadgets and machines that we have constructed over time demonstrating the flexibility of the Arduino microprocessor, and how individuals can use their creativity to build their own devices.


Most Arduino kits come as a packet of components, a bunch of wires and a “breadboard”. Putting a project together becomes a nightmare of tangled wires and confusing problems when it does not work. In this case it’s hard to tell whether the problem is in the electronic wiring or in the programming, leading to all sorts of frustration.


Our kits are designed to allow the learner to focus on learning programming, not on learning electronics, which can be learnt later. All of the components in our kits are pre-wired to a small extent and have standard “servo” type plugs on them to allow flexibility in building projects, but without the confusion of basic electronics to worry about.


Techspace Learning kits have evolved slowly over time, and are put together “in-house” using components that have been specially modified by us to make using the Arduino more accessible.

In the Techspace Learning workshops, participants are not just “playing” with technology that someone else has put together, they are learning how the technology works, and about some of the nitty gritty details of digital technology.

Techspace Learning recognises the advantages that a small group of people learning together has as an educational environment. While everyone is working individually, the ability to bounce questions and suggestions off others is useful. Even if individuals are not keen on interacting, there is something encouraging about being in an environment with others who are interested in the same things as you.

Many businesses in this field are concerned with making money. Techspace Learning is a registered “Not for Profit” organisation whose main focus is to provide opportunities for people to engage with technology in an informal setting.
